Another stupid UPS question

I just spoke to the local office. They say you cannot ship gunpowder. Others say that there is a 20 dollar per box fee. Can anyone enlighten me?
 
I think some UPS locations accept ammo, etc. and others do not. That may explain the apparent discrepancy. Check for a location that handles the "hazardous" stuff.

That goes for FedEx too. Go online and search for a location that accepts Hazardous Materials. It's probably going to be a main regional hub. It most likely has to go ground anyway too...

Hazardous Materials

UPS transports hazardous materials and International Dangerous Goods on a contract basis only

Overview

UPS transports hazardous materials only within and between the 50 United States and Puerto Rico; UPS transports International Dangerous Goods (IDG) within or between defined international service areas
UPS does not accept hazardous materials/dangerous goods requiring shipping papers or Declarations for Dangerous Goods at UPS Drop Boxes, UPS Customer Centers, locations of The UPS Store, Third Party Retailers, UPS Authorized Shipping Outlets, through UPS Internet shipping, or as one-time pickups
Hazardous Materials requiring shipping papers cannot be shipped via UPS Hundredweight Service® or retrieved using any UPS return service
Approved customers with a signed domestic agreement certifying their compliance with 49 CFR and all additional UPS requirements will have a daily pickup for hazardous materials service; approved customers with a signed international agreement certifying their compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization, International Air Transport Association, 49 CFR, and all additional UPS requirements will have a daily pickup for International Dangerous Goods service
Available on a contract basis only

Instructions
It is the shipper's responsibility to:


Determine if a package contains a hazardous material and to properly classify, label, mark, and package it in accordance with government regulations
Ensure that all of their hazardous materials employees (as defined in 49 CFR) are properly trained, tested, and certified as specified in the regulations
