I was just flipping through the channels earlier, and saw part of that new show on VH1, Hogan Knows Best, and they had a segment of Hulk trying to get his son to go tot he range with him for some father-son time. Had some footage of Hulk with his pistol, and with him going full auto with what looked like an AR-15. Later it showed him at home cleaning the pistol when his son came home late. I keep expecting him to be sitting there with that to greet his daughter's boyfriend.

Anyhow, it looked pretty cool. I liked how it was presented as a normal activity for a father and son to go do.

On the episode where his daughter (16) was going out with a guy that was 22 he pulled the daughter asside, gave her the lecture then asked her:
"You gonna be ok?.. You want a weapon?"

When I was a lad, my friends and I would have paid with organs to spend quality time with Hulk Hogan. I guess the grass is always greener...

my question is why he was letting his 16 year old 'go out' with a guy who is 22????

aint never gonna happen with my daughter.... helllllllllllll NO!

Yeah, what the hell's up with that?

What on earth is he thinking? That the 22-year-old is NOT gonna be committing statutory rape on his daughter for the next two years, ***?! :scrutiny:

How does anyone figure that it's okay for a 22-year-old guy to go out with a 16-year-old girl (or vice versa)?

It says oodles (all bad) about the personality development of the older person that they are not associating with peers their own age, but instead target people so much younger... :uhoh:

All I know is, If I were 22 and went to pick up my 16 year old GF and she introduced me to her dad... and it was Hogan... I'd have handed him my *ahem* parts.

"Here. Your daughter and I won't be using these tonight. "

I heard something like that when I was young and dating. I was 16, and my girlfriend was 19. Yeah, I know, not quite the difference, but you can imagine what my mother was thinking. (A 19 year old woman of the world with my baby? NO WAY!)To make a long and sometimes painful story short, sometimes it works. We've been married 30 years.

16, in what I have observed of our American culture, seems to be a period of time when young girls undergo a rapid process of maturation, and in doing so, become young women. I think the current laws in most places within the US are utter and complete crap. If a couple is within 2 and a half years of age, but the male turns 18, that makes what they are doing illegal? That makes the man a predator? MMMM-okayyyyyy.

My wife is 10 years older than I am. We've been together for about eight and a half years now. I started seeing her after we'd been friends for a while. She interested me because she didn't play games like the women my age, and she knew exactly what she wanted.

22 seems IME, to be an age where many American males suddenly reach that next plateau of maturity the 16 year old girls have reached. The combination seems to work well, from what I have seen.

That said, my daughter won't date a 22YO at 16. She isn't allowed to date until she's 35. :neener:

Lot of thread vere here folks!!

Oops, sorry Chris!

I had heard before that the Hulkster was into firearms. I haven't caught the show, but I'm hoping to soon. But then, I'm a WWE junkie. It's like a soap opera for redneck guys, LOL! And the acting is no worse than most of the action movies I've seen.
Hmm, I wonder if Hogan goes to those celebrity RKBA fundraisers?

I think that when a young woman reaches 16 years of age, she finds herself [RUGER SP-101 CROSSDRAW CARRY?] and naturally looks at her dating options as [.45 ACP JHP vs. 9mm JHP] and feels that is a mature decision. When a young man is the same age, he [SMITH & WESSON TRIGGER LOCKS!] and therefore is drawn to [ZOMBIE BEAR ILLEGAL ALIEN JBTs!!!] just like his grandad did in the good old days of courting. [GLOCK KABOOM!!!!!]

:)

I always knew Hogan was cool. Even after seeing that legdrop go on 20 years too long!

As far as the 16 yr old daughter and 22 year old guy...that is more scripted than Hogan's matches.

But then, I'm a WWE junkie.
Ugh. They will always be
WWF to me!

As a side note, Scott Steiner is a big gun guy. Apparently he has quite the collection. Eric Bischoff and him (at least were) hunting buddies at one point. And Val Venus (from CANADA!) has been known to take quite the RKBA stance. Other wrestlers that I know of that are at least big hunters are Paul Orndorff and Ted DiBiase. I'm sure there are others too.

When I was a little kid I had this gigantic poster of Hulk Hogan (the original Hogan in his first yellow-tights days) on my wall. To some extent, even in his silliness, he's always represented some of the things that make America great. He always told me to say my prayers, eat my vitamins and be proud to be an American and I DID, damnit! :)

Hulk Hogan and Mr T are true American heroes. They are ever vigilant defenders of freedom, liberty, justice, and tacky outfits. :p

Mr T as a great american hero?

ok maybe the thread has veered a LITTLE. :)

i wonder how long before the hulk show is available for download on p2p programs? I don't have cable to i won't be able to watch it :(

does anybody else think this might be a good thing? Maybe if Joe Sixpack starts seeing guns on TV outside of the news, it could either cause more people to be interested in guns, or perhaps an acceptance for guns in general.
