A handgun nearby

loving mother rests her feet

children sleep soundly

-------------------

early morning fog

goblins look for easy repast

man with Glock fears not

----------------------------------

her first bullseye scored

daughter's smile luminous

gun culture lives on

So how are these? I've never done poetry before.

Post your own haiku if you wish.

It could be loaded
Or it could be empty, but…
To me its loaded

Where is it pointed?
Know it is pointed safely
Or don’t pick it up

Always the same way
Sight target, decide to shoot
THEN finger in guard

The bullet can’t see
So I have to look for it
Till where it will stop

"Sell your cloak and buy a sword"

Lucky snoozed in front of the tent
while Martha and I set up empty tea cans on a log
at the bottom of a dry gulch
for some afternoon's plinking with our pocket revolvers.

Later on, as the moon rose over pine-covered mountains,
and an owl hooted, before slumber overtook
us tired hikers, I reflected on what a great country
this is, and said a little prayer of thanks.

(Oops,not a haiku, I just realized.)

Nineteen eleven A one.
Proven in war time.
Good enough for me.

The High Road dot org.
Great place to learn.
Great people to meet.

Cold clear arctic sun
Pierces the Cook Inlet fog
Just like a bullet

Warm wood Mosin stock
Nestles against my rising chest
Like a warm puppy

It tis not haiku proper, but hey, its fun...

Cloudy sky, earths shield from the sun;
Protects me well, we are one
Forest i love, senses so keen
Crunch of needles, ever so green

Shiny brass of the gray sunlight
May rain! All will be right!
Rain .223 brass, i think :p
For oh how i love to plink!

The action slides, beautiful sight
Harsh noise causes fright
But me, it is natural beauty!

And another one about my mauser....

Stripper clips
Load em by five

Gone in a second,
Busy as a bee in a hive

Clack, boom
Repeat it by five!

Five five five,
Five aimed shots!
All in a pie!

And one last one,

Forests are a love truer than any else,
Few are privilaged enough to appreciate,
I am.

And oh how i do love it so,
Every lost inch is a crime, personal afront
I could lose myself to easily, were i not wary!

But, i wish i could lose myself
My heart longs for it to be so...
My mind knows better. How i wish it did not!

Hm, i pity the poor souls who see naught of nature but a planted palm in a park!

Handgun Control says
its laws would make the world safe.
Fat chance: thugs are armed.

Rosie O'Donnell
says no one should own a gun.
Her bodyguard does.

Sarah Brady says
a handgun shot her husband.
Hinckley bore no guilt?

The ACLU
says speech is a basic right.
But self defense? No.

Million Mom March says
Grassroots organization.
Hardly. It's a front.

Janet Reno says
Registration's the beginning.
She's wrong: it's the end.

Empty the beer can

I love Russkie guns

Satin Nickle on ankle
An Ace in the hole

Two Seven Off-Suit
Why did I fold it this time
Would have flopped full house

I did not write this one, I read it several years ago over on AR15.com and it has stuck with me
Author Unknown, but appreciated!

AK gets job done
AR more accurate, even
better, M1A

California has
worse gun laws than most, but no
length limit, folding knives

Cali was once
Paradise, but popular
leftists ruin Eden

My assault rifle
is not illegal, it's just
undocumented

THR members
Say drinking and shooting is bad,
But the Swiss do it

Those deserve neither
Who would trade their liberty
for a false safety

"Magazines not Clips!"
Snobs say, but Remington and
Marlin call them clips
