Im planning on selling my car now that I work from home 5 days a week, I wonder how many handguns I can get a year with that extra $345 a month i save ;)

I only work 6 miles away from home (when I'm not working from home), so I ride a bike! I've got older vehicles with no payments, cheap insurance and not that great gas mileage. It just makes more sense to ride. Plus there's the added benefit of being at least a little active.

Hey, I can use my gas money to buy AMMO!!

My daily commute was $25 a day in gas and tolls, and 345 month in car payments... add that up and its $845 more a month that I have to play with

Out here a properly equipped ATV is road legal and traffic is light. Gets a little nippy going to town but I get around 42 mpg...

And nobody is laughing these days, either.

...A lot!

Now that's REALLY a lot!

All in all, I'd say you've got a sweet plan laid out. Good on 'ya. :D ;)

I've used somewhat similar reasoning before. When asked how I can afford to buy guns I reply that since I drive an old beater car with no payments I could use the money that most people use each month to pay their car payment to pay for my guns. Sometimes they ask about affording ammo. I simply tell them that I spend less on ammo than most smokers spend on cigaretts (and some drinkers on alcohol.) Sometimes living cheaply is more fun. ;)

$15,000 will get you admission into the wonderful, magical world of Class III weaponry pretty well. And who in their right mind would NOT want a suppressed, select fire MP5?...

Bleh the old beater is dead dead, so now I gotta keep my car, ah well, at least now that Im working from home thats $500 a month I save on commuting costs anyway! :OP

We will pretend that I wasnt taking those commuting costs out of my savings :banghead: and actually have extra money each month, welcome to my pretend world :neener:

Ah well, I will have my 9mm and my wife will have her .22 shortly and that will last us at least a month :)

Let's see $845/mo x12 mo/yr = $10140 per year.

CZ-52 at SOG $96 for 2 or more 10140/96 = about 105 CZ-52s per year and enough left over for your C&R. Of course this doesn't count shipping, so you might only be able to get 80 or so.:D

Arm your kith and kin!!!

P.S. Year 2 you can stock up on about 80,000 rounds of surplus 7.62x25.

Since you have freed up $500 a month (don't forget to call your insurance company and revise your daily mileage estimate to lower your rates), you could buy a nice gun every other month and devote the rest to ammunition. I try to have 100 rounds of good SD ammo per gun and 1,000 rounds of FMJ range ammo per caliber around the house. Well, I try at least. Dang ammo goes on weekend trips with me sometimes and disappears, can't figure out where it goes. ;)

Me. I shot all the toys I wanted in the Corps. Now I have no urge to rock-n-roll. I'd blow it on a .470 NE double rifle.

Yeah right! You would be on the phone looking for an ortho consult after firing it! :banghead:
