Very nice snubbie collection!

The 642 is a great little carry gun, I really like mine. Since I took the attached pic of my snubs I sold the model 36 and picked up a 3" model 30 made around the same time as yours. HMM, does a 3" J frame still qualify as a snub ;)

What kind of grips are those on that 642?

They are Spegel Boot Grips, made specifically for the hammerless/centennial S&W J frame guns. They are available for the standard exposed hammer guns also.

S&w Snubby

Hello
I only carry ONE so have just ONE. It is a tough to find potent .32 mag. This is a model 631 which was offered from 1990-1992. They made this model in three configurations. The Standard snubby, The Lady Smith Shown and a 4" combat model with adjustable sights which I had but it did not group well, so I sold it. I carry the one shown daily, and it is a very accurate round & surprisingly enough out shot there combat model on target grouping as well. The report and recoil is mild and the velocites exceed a .38 Plus-P when hand loaded. S&W only made a total of 8800 of this model in the three configurations stated above and the interesting thing is they were NEVER cataloged. The grip's shown are factory replacements as it came with small rosewood magnas. These were made by the S&W Grip Corp. which is now out of business. Regards, Hammerdown.
