What firearms are sitting in your bedroom night stand?

I've been getting a weird, hair on the back of the neck standing up kinda feeling in my neighborhood lately, which is quite odd for me. So last night in addition to the normal Ruger Service Six .357 Magnum, I loaded up the Mosin-nagant m44, and put it next to my bed with the bolt open. I think I slept a bit better.

What are my choices?

Too many to list here.

But usually the HD/Nightstand gun is a Colt Magnum Carry loaded with 158gr federal hydrashocks.

Others near by.

SA 1911 A1 Custom 45 acp and 50 and 80 pounds dog generally on the bed.

My wife's side, S&W Mdl. 36, my side Ruger Security Six with 6" bbl., both loaded with "special" hand loads.

enough

my side a 1911-a1 with federal hydra shock the wife's side ditto were both 1911 fans then there's the furry alarm system to be installed at a later date.:scrutiny:

Not in a nightstand, but close.

- S&W 640 w/night sights, usually loaded with .357 125gr JHP Corbon, in hopes that I wake up every freaking thing in the neighborhood even if I miss.
- Makarov PM (Bulgarian), 95gr FMJ Fiocchi.

The rest of the weapons are in the closet, but I still need to get a shotgun.

Beretta 92FS, HK USP 9, or a Browning Hi Power and a flashlight. When they're all awaiting cleanings, a S&W 6 inch 19-3 .357.

Always:

-Taurus 85CH, loaded with 5 125gr .38+P Gold Dots. It is often on my person either in my pocket or in one of the cheapest Galco (or is it Bianchi, I don't remember) IWB holsters.

-Another handgun which is:

-Often my Taurus PT140 Milennium Pro, though it has been on hiatus until I changeover my defensive ammo. I was using plain WWB JHP but after a recent situation (a situation that locked up the gun) with WWB FMJ I'm not sure I trust WWB anymore. Once I've tested enough of the new ammo, probably Gold Dots, to trust it for reliability in my gun it will often be the second gun again, or more accurately it will be the primary with the 85 the backup. This gun is often carried at home in pocket or IWB in a nice, but inexpensive, High Noon tuckable IWB.

-I tend to alternate nearly equally between my Charles Daly 1911, CZ 75B, S&W 65LS and 6" S&W 586. The 65LS gets used a little more than the others, and the Daly is on temporary hiatus until I get a minor issue ironed out (it has 10K rounds through it and now it no longer wants to lock the slide open on an empty chamber). The 65 and 586 get loaded with 6 125gr Gold Dots in .38+P, the CZ with 16 (15+1) 124gr Gold Dots (9mm) and the 1911 with 9 (8+1) 230gr Silver Tips.

Still, the handgun is just to get me to the long gun. Usually the long gun is either my Winchester 94 in .45LC or the Benelli Nova 18.5" tactical version which, in addition to the loaded rounds, has 5 rounds on the butt and another 20 in an ammo belt I keep near the gun (2 loaded handguns and 30+ rounds of 12ga buck ready to go should handle most situations).

My side: Kahr MK9 (my daily carry), NAA 32 (daily BUG), 18" pump 12 gauge. Pants hanging on hook ready to get into.

Her side: Lady Smith 357 w/ laser grips.

Both sides: Surefire flashlights.

What!!! No Browning 1919-A4s?!?!

I've been here scanning the pages, and pages...hoping, longing to see photos of 1919-A4s, loaded, belts hanging over headboards, etc! Well, not here either.

But I do have a two beautiful Colt 1911s, a Warrior 1911, a Glock 17 and my favorite my "MIA loaded". I guess those are enough to hold off the bad guys for a while.

one45auto, didn't I see that set up on the Antiques Road
show? :neener:

When it comes to home furnishings I have a passion for antiques. Guess the Glock looks a little out of place there, huh? (LOL)

Oh, and yes - that is a real working 1940's era rotary telephone. :)

On my side - Glock 20 with 165 gr DoubleTap Golden Sabres.

Passenger side (currently vacant) - Colt 1991A1 with 230 gr +P Rangers.

In the closet, 5 feet away, Armalite AR15 20" with 30 rounds of Winchester M193, and a Mossy 590 with reduced recoil Ranger 00 buck, and a couple of slugs for luck.

For Everyone With Multiple Loaded Weapons In Their Home!!!!

Before the flames start,:cuss: I want to make one thing perfectly clear - If I did not have multiple loaded firearms in my home, I would be a very dead boy right now!

That being said, everyone talks about how they have the guns ready in their home. Well, that's great but what are they ready for? Most of you will say they are for an intruder. Perfect. Now what's your plan? Hunting expedition in your own home? I think not. The ???? doesn't go down like that. Believe me, I know. The only thing you will be thinking about is getting your a%@ and your love ones safe. This means out of the house ASAP. Trust me, you will want nothing more that to get the hell out of there. See where I am going with this?

Now, on to my story -

P: packing

I had 2 handguns loaded in my bedroom. I left one behind. Arming my room mate with a second weapon. Giving him a rifle and a pistol. Not very bright. Keep in mind, what ever you don't take with you is left behind for the bad guy. Do you really what him to pick up a loaded gun? Your loaded gun?

So, the lesson I learned - KEEP THEM LOCKED UP! A handgun should be used to get to your rifle - your secured rifle. It all happens so fast you don't think about the rest of the firearms. You grab one and go. Don't think for even a minute that you will be leaving your home will all of our loaded and unsecured firearms.

That's a great set up. It has a lot of class, just need an old Smith revo or
1911.
