Absolute best feeling auto?

As much as I love my 1911, I have to say a P08/Luger feels best in hand and the sights fall right on target. The Ruger Mark I/II/III Target .22s feel pretty good, too.
I find the M1911 mediocre at point shooting. The standard configuration points low, whereas the arched mainspring housing feels like the afterthought that it is. The grip safety creates slack at the point that requires the greatest consistency in the handhold.

In the conventional Browning-inspired format, the SIG P210 equipped with extended Nill grips fits my hand much better, and its wraparound grip configuration has an unlimited potential for custom fit to the individual hand.

But no other combat pistol approaches the egonomics of the Parabellum. The P08 Navy configuration is the best, closely followed by the 06/24 Swiss version.

For a .22 self-loading pistol, I prefer the Browning Medalist.

When I was looking for my first ...

I concentrated mostly on Ergonomics. I ended up with a BHP. CZ was right there. P99 is awesome, but not available at the time. I really liked the USPc lines (NOT the full sized).

My best feeling auto would be my S&W 4596 followed closely by my S&W 5906. Sig 226 would be a close third.:)

Gotta say the HK P7M8 is the nicest feeling auto to me. It's slim width and ange are just about perfect for me. I'd say the only one close is another HK, the P2000SK.

Hmmmmmmm......
Best feeling auto huh?
1. 1911 (Governmander) with EB bobtail MSH.
2. 1911, 1911 clones like STAR BM, etc.
3. CZ 75, BHP, clones, etc. if you're into double stacks.
4. Some SIG models, in particular the 228. Excellent balance. Double stack too, but feels like I sleep with it in my right hand every night.
5. H&K P7 series guns, heel release and all. Acquired taste, but best CCW piece ever. 9mm only. Not into widebodies.
Those guns also have scored me some of the best draw+first shot times I've been able to do.
Prices range from cheap (Star BM.) to pricey HC custom squeeze cocker, custom 1911s.

Taurus Millennium Pro 145. A nice rubber grip would make it even sweeter. It just fits my hand nicely and points so naturally.

No.1 Luger, No. 2 Makarov with standard black thumbrest grips, No. 3 Baby Eagle with standard length grip.

Strictly based on feel and on the guns I own....I'd go w/ my Italian Beretta 92fs. Every time I pick it (or one like it) up, it just feels right.
+1:)

best fit?

In mho, two fit me the best, my taurus p145 mellenium pro and a cz rami, guess all the answers prove on thing, none of us have the same shaped grips or interpet feel the same

BHP. Funny thing is, it's one of the common pistols I don't own. Shot one owned by a friend (who got me interested in shooting) and loved the feel of it. I like my 1911 a lot, though I think revolver grips fit my hand better. Glocks sit well, but don't feel very good for me. (Broke a hand and now trigger finger bends toward pinky, rubbing on bottom of trigger guard.)

I'm almost exclusively a revolver guy but the semi-auto that feels absolutelly the best in my hand is a traditional single-stack 1911. The BHP ain't too shabby either for a double-stack. The 1911 wins, though, in my book.

For me, it's the MkIII BHP with factory grips. For some reason, it's an odd combination of handsize and grip size/shape that just goes together better than anything I can describe. I also really like the depth (from frontstrap to backstrap). That affects me more than actual width across the backstrap.

I'd have to say of the ones I quoted, the Hi Power definitely feels the best of the bunch.

Of the many guns I've owned and handled in over 30 years, the ones that come to mind as "best feeling" when I pick them up are the S&W 9VE (or 40VE) and teh Taurus 24/7 .45. Whether or not you consider these as "good guns" or not is irrelevant - to me these feel the best in my hand. (I also shoot them pretty well, too!)
