I am going to build a more efficient way of storing handguns in my safe and part of it includes a rod inserted 1-2" into the barrel to stabilize the gun in the rack.
I initially planned on using wooden dowels since the rest of the rack is wood, but then started wondering if there any way the dowels would harm the barrels?
The rack will be inside a safe with a dehumidifier rod. The guns would be cleaned before being put on the rack, and the rod could be wiped each time.
Anybody see anything unusual happening between the wooden dowel and the barrel?
Thanks!
