At a gun show this weekend about 100 miles down the road one of the dealers there had a little single shot .22 kids rifle with a PINK polymer stock. I waffled back and forth on picking it up for my grand daughter and decided to talk to my son about it first. The reason is that I have a Anschutz Woodchucker that both of my sons started on, and soon my grandsons. I could not decide if it would be ok to get my grand daughter something distinctly "female", or if it would be better to have her start on the same rifle... truly making no difference between the boys and the girls...

Well anyway, after talking to my son, we have decided to get her one. Now I cannot remember the name. It was something I had not heard of before. It strongly resembled a "Chipmunk" and the stock was a true PINK polymer, not the pinkish laminated ones that I am seeing.

Anybody out there seen them and can tell me the name?

Many Thanks in advance,

What you are looking for is called a Cricket, available in Pink and Black from Wally World, should you choose to shop there.--->:banghead:

I don't remember what this one was, as I said.... but it wasn't a Cricket. I will on the other hand watch for one of those as well for comparisons sake. Thanks...

Anybody seen anything else?

sounds like maybe the variation on the cricket/chipmunk type, that Henry is puting out, Microbolt maybe??. did it have an almost "butterknife" bolt handle??

The packaging reminded me of Henry, so you could be onto something there, but the bolt handle ended with the typical ball head, just tiny. Microbolt does not ring a bell. I think I will know it as soon as I see / hear it, but I could be wrong.

I will look into the Henry angle. Thanks.

The Henry is a Microbolt. Thats not it. Also, they are not showing anything other than black stock on their website.

But... thank you for the input! I do appreciate it!

Close but no cigar... This one had a metal trigger guard and the rear sight was on the barrel just in front of the receiver. I had never seen this brand before. The Crickett I am familiar with, although I did not realize they had a pink one until today.

I was at the gun show last weekend and saw a pink criket, was as pink as Pepto Bismol!

You could build one on one of the Cavalry Arms MK-Is in pink with pink furniture.

Frankly, I would pick whatever rifle you and your son think would be best, and then get a spray can of pink paint. Any rifle can be whatever color you want, so it might be better to get the right one for the intended purpose and that the little girl would probably like.

the pink crickett i bought has a laminated stock and stainless barrel with metal trigger guard

I've been looking at the pink Crickets for over a year, now, and originally, the ones that Walmart was carrying were the pink wood stocks with metal trigger guard. It looks like they changed to the polymer stocks that have the trigger guard molded into it. The pink/blued ones are $107, and the pink/stainless ones are something like $124. I think the wife, Missashot, is going to order one for our daughter, soon. I'm still looking for a new Ruger 10/22 40th Anniversary model, as our daughter was born in 2004, but no one seems to have them at reasonable prices, any more.

You could just step up and buy her an AR-15, you can get the furniture in about any color you want :D

These are the only one's

I have seen  pink for girl's, blue for boy's :what:
:D

Don't limit yourself to a gun based on the color it is sold in.

Get her the gun that you think is appropriate, and either DuraCoat it or have a professional DuraCoat it (but honestly, if you just want solid pink over all or part of the gun, this is an easy DIY job). I think it will be a lot more special that way, too. Something you "made" just for her.

DuraCoat is an extremely resilient finish, will look better and hold up better than spray paint.

There's a LOT of plastic in that picture!

I will have to take a good look at the next show on the 31st. I still think this must be something fairly new.

For goodness sakes get the young lady a traditional stocked rifle. PINK?? I know everyone has different tastes but most lady shooters I know would be embarrassed to be seen with a pink rifle.

The synthetic stocks are 2006 items and some Walmarts will have problems ordering them because they are not in their in-house catelogs. The laminate stocks are 2005 items and can be ordered easily. Missashot and I ordered a laminate one in blue last night. ;)
