I hear that the chamber is unsupported near the rear, right by the feed ramp. I hear that it's built like that in order to help increase reliability during feeding. Does this decrease safety in any manner? In some cases this has caused a ka-boom, but the people were supposedly using non-jacketed, and also +p ammunition. I guess this area of missing support causes case bulges in some instances. I'm interested in hearing experts' opinions, specifically people that work with firearms as a profession. I'm picking up a G-30, but these things scare me! I like my face and I want to keep it!

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Shoot factory ammo and you will not have a problem.

Many, many people reload for Glocks without any problem, but you need to be more careful in several resepcts than you would be loading for a ramped, fully supported SV/STI.

Aftermarket barrels are available that will have tighter chambers and much better head support if you want to reload for your Glock. Military pistols don't get fed reloads, and that's what Glocks were designed to be. They have fairly loose chambers so that there can be reasonable variation in the ammo's case dimensions without causing feeding problems. The Kaboom site was sure an eye-opener!
