Okay, now that we are all "talked out" about Miami Vice, lets focus on the sequel to Underworld, due out Jan 20.

Ya, the gun handling (and the overall story) is fanciful. But Kate Beckensdale in leather and gratuitous gun violence with no redeeeming social value will at least keep the movie from being boring.

I actually enjoyed some of the gun models they used. I like seeing Walther P99's somewhere other than in James Bond's hands. I wonder if they'll cut out of the Glock and 1911 mold of late and use something else again this time.

The Beretta's were a bit over the top I thought.

YUMMMY

I love her! Werewolfs Vampires and Automatic weapons......need I say more!

More angry...did you see the first one? ;) I am pretty sure Kate never smiled once in that film, which is part of the reason why I really liked it. Van Helsing was a really bad movie, in spite of Kate. This one I look forward to.

from the trailer, they mention bits of the first one, but i am doubting if it ties into the original story line. i'll still see it even though this has been the worst winter for movies ever

You my friend are correct, which is why my Movie gallery stock sucks right now. I lost around $60K over the last half year on Movie gallery. It got to $34.13 a share and I didn't sale because I thought it would go higher and yeah, well it didn't LOL. In fact, it creeped down lower and lower a little every week until it hit the $5 range where it has been for 5 months or more. Anyways had to vent. Sorry. Back on topic, while you are right about this being the worst winter ever for movies I have hopes that Underworld Evolution will make up for that. I think this movie is going to rock. I know a lot of people said the first one was a flop, but I enjoyed it. As far as the guns go for either of them I think they rock. Later.

Actually it takes up right after the ending of the last movie. I was really bored and I read the novelized version of the movie over the weekend.

Huh? Between Harry Potter, Narnia, and King Kong this has been one of the BEST movie seasons ever!! Hopefully Munich will keep up the trend :)

As for Underworld, we'll be there on the 20th, as my Fiancee is a huge fan and it is her b-day. I'm expecting tons of HK stuff, not much else. That G36 must run real well on blanks because everyone and their grandmother has one in Hollywood these days...

SPOILERSMFOR THE FIRST "UNDERWORLD"!!!!!!!!!!!!

Acctualy it does tie into the original story line. At the end of the first one you see the blood from the werewolf they killed in the crypt seep into hte crypt of the only surviving "master vapire or vampire leader ( I cant remember what they acctualy termed them but it boils down to the leaders of the clan).
So you have a werewolf vampire that is a mixture of a very strong Werewolf and a moderate vampire and a seccond one (the BG for the sequel) whi is a mixture of strong Vampire and moderate werewolf...should be an interesting showdown. The tie in to the original is the continued presence of the Werewolf/vampire hybrid and the fact that Kate Beckinsdale's charactor is i nolve with the good hybrid and fighting agains everyone else with him...kinda corny I know but...Werewolves Vampires and guns...sounds like a fun movie to me:D

that may be abit overkill (no pun intended) I'm all for zombi movies and all for were wolf and vampire movies. but onece you put combinations ither than WW and Vamps together it seems to loose something. Just my $.02

I suspect this has more to do with Blockbuster being a much better place to rent movies...

narnia and harry potter were good. king kong was good, but overall i still maintain this winter was brutal for movies. you cant look at the three good ones and judge the whole season. some grade A crap was made that has no shot of ever even breaking even.

and i would argue potter was a late fall release :) didnt it come out at the end of october?

...and the fact that Hollyweird is pumping out so much garbage.

Sure, there have recently been great movies like King Kong, Narnia, and Harry Potter. The problem is that for every good movie there are lots of simply aweful ones.

Add to that mix the fact that it costs an arm and a leg to go to a movie theater, which in my case is compounded by the fact that I have to get a babysitter for the kids, and it often isn't worth going anymore.

Unless the movie is something I really want to see on the big screen (and I'm picky) I'd rather wait until it comes out on DVD so I only have to pay a few bucks to rent it, I can pause for bathroom breaks, get comfortable on the couch, etc.

I didn't dig the first one. It seemed like a cool idea, but I don't really remember a vampire in the movie doing anything vampiry other than jumping and falling from far distances.

The only real thing about the movie I thought was cool was that, for all of the supposed abilities the vampires had, without weapons, they were little match for the brute strength of the lycans.

Enjoyed the first movie and hope to enjoy the sequel. Interesting genre movie.

Hollywood is inconsistent on the quality of sequels, however.

Let's hope for the best.

Being a middle-aged male, KB is a motivating factor in my decision, of course.;)

As long as the firearms usage & martial arts sequences don't make me cringe, the rest of the fantasy storyline is relaxing & entertaining ....

I thought the first one was interesting in that I liked the somber tone, dark thematic elements and dark, shadowed sets. Some of it reminded me a bit of a Laurell K. Hamilton story backdrop in the Anita Blake, Vampire Executioner series on one of her worse days. Or one of Edward's normal days, perhaps.

Actually, no! I used to love Blockbuster but now I have changed my mind after experiencing Movie gallery for quite sometime. Movie Gallery is all around better and I am not saying that just because I am a stock owner. Oh and I forgot to mention that Movie Gallery also bought out Hollywood Video and they are also the ones that started NetFlix, the biggest internet video rental company in the world. I am not really sure why the stock went so low, but what I do know is that they are not alone. In fact, every movie rental place that I have been keeping an eye on, stock wise, is doing the same or worse than Movie Gallery is. Blockbuster is doing worse. The only company doing good at last I checked $28 a share is NetFlix. I would have to say that IMO the reason these companies aren't doing well is simply a lack of good movies coming out of Hollywood the last half year or so.

Personally, I thought Van Helsing was slightly better. I didn't have a high opinion of either though.

To keep it gun related....Going to the movies is expensive. For what it costs to go to the normal theater I can go the the discount ($1) theater a little later and buy a 50 round box of 9mm. Hmmm.....movie or movie and ammo?? Easy decision.

Hope the don't make the mistake that the Matrix sequels made, IMO. More lead, less love. I was almost yelling during 'Revolutions' for Trinity to 'die already!'

Wait, there were guns in Underworld? I guess I was too distracted by Kate's leather clad buttocks to notice. Man I can't wait to see those again. Oh yeah, guns are cool too.

SilentStalker: after experiencing Blockbuster's "no late fees", and then receiving a bill in the mail from Movie Gallery for late fees of less than $15... well, let's just say I know where I'll be renting movies in the future.

Blah blah blah...

I can sum it up for you in four words,

Kate Beckinsale is ***HOT***.

(hope my girlfriend doesn't read this)
