Any of you firearm hoarders, whoops, I mean enthusiasts going to the show?

INDY "1500" Gun & Knife Show
January 13th, 14th & 15th.

Indiana State Fairgrounds
1202 East 38th Street
Indianapolis, Indiana 46205

Too many people selling MRE's, knives, and expensive guns. I went last year and didn't see any deals at all. But it was amazing how many people were standing in line for the first day. The line was wrapped around the building and almost to the back.

I'll be there selling knives and swords. I help a friend run tables for his business.

I'll be there, looking for Stars and other odd sidearms. (If anyone is considering bringing a really nice Ballester-Molina to sell at some decent price, please do! Or, you know, one of the Astra copies of the Broomhandle Mauser at a truly fire-sale price, even...).

Hubby and I (he's on THR, too, but I shan't reveal his Secret Identity) go to as many of the Indy gun shows as we can. Always an interesting crowd. And there's a little Dreyse semi-auto that comes to every show I usually stop and say "hi" to. ;)

Um, there's a guy with stuff in the 100,000 dollar range. He's the one with the double bolt action rifles and .22lr and other gattlings.

Matt and I will be there. We both need ammo and have some NFA paperwork to resolve.

I WISH there were expensive guns there. Hard to find good stuff at gun shows. *kicks rocks* Oh, well, there's always hope that's why we go.:D

Indy is about 180 miles for me. I haven't been for about 3 years. Last show was where I got my Surefire. One of the best things about the show is the Hooters down the street.

Is it in the 2 building set up like it was last time?

Yes, it will be in the Blue Ribbon Champion Building.
Fri. 2p-8p
Sat. 8a-6p
Sun. 9a-4p

This weekend! Man, I gotta get to the bank.

So, do all The High Roaders wear red carnations or somethin'? I'm pretty recognizable :what: but how about the rest of you?:scrutiny:

Anyone make it to the "1500" today? I'll be there Saturday looking for a Bulgi-Mak, or a Russian IJ-70 Mak.

I'll be helping another THR member who runs tables there. He owns his own business selling knives and writes military fiction.
http://www.sharppointythings.com. Look for the AR-15 with the large bayonet and the pink AR-15 some of you have seen in Oleg's pictures.

I'm going today. Look for the tall gal in a purple cammo T-shirt, though I'm gonna have to dress warmer than that...

I went Friday and man was it crowded.

I went today (Saturday), still very crowded. The show was supposed to be in the Blue Ribbon Building instead of the smaller building where it was. Oh well, found a nice Bulgarian Mak in 9X18, two mags and a holster.

Soylent Cammo is Gunnies!

It was way, way beyond crowded! Sheeeeesh! Hubby and I could barely get through. We were there from about 11:30 through 3:30 Saturday.

He did buy himself a brace of sixguns (one of them a honking big Taurus, though not the keen .410/.45LC revolver they've brought out recently; saw one of those, cooooool), and I looked at some tiny Stars -- a Model S .380 that's kind of a mini 1911, and another, similar one in .32 (DK?) but plated and factory-engraved and with a price tag to match ::whine:: So, what the heck, I bought a Red Chinese Tokarev 9mm. 'Cos it's an odd thing and I'd seen one a couple shows back and thought it would be fun to shoot. ...It was that or a Webley, seeing as there weren't any $150 Broomhandle clones.

It was difficult to see much, the place was that crowded. Sunday is likely to be a little quieter, as I understand there is some sort of sporting event in town that day. ;)

Met "mrmeval" and Mad Mike and probably crossed paths with El Tejon, AK-NOW and that other guy -- but who can tell in that crowd? (I demonstrated my, er, "great skill" with a balisong to Meval, who can attest that I do still have all my fingers -- oh, I am the Tactical Ninja, if the spoon is a weapon).

Here's what I like about Indianapolis and 21st Century technological civilization: from the gun show we went to a first-rate Japanese-Korean place for dinner (ahhh!), then checked out a little "organic" type grocery store that opened up recently, where the usual nuts, fruits and wholesome whole grains are, it turns out, sharing space with some very fine-lookin' steaks, thick-cut dolphin-free-range bacon (or something like that) and seafood: now that's my kinda organic!

A fun day. Hope to see you guys next time!

My friend Glocker and I arrived at the gun show at around 8:05 yesterday (Saturday). The crowd wasn't too bad for about the first half-hour. After that, I could understand why all weapons brought in by the public were required to be peace-tied:neener: .

I walked in with my Kel-tec P-11 which I sold for $150, and left with a very nice stainless Rossi M88 for $195. The Rossi (which I named "Lucille") was new-in-box and had never been fired. It appears to have been made in the early 80's, but I have not checked the serial number yet.

After the show, Glocker and I put 50 paper-killers through her, then I took her home and gave her a good cleaning. It was a good day.

Where did all the people come from??? Holy cow it was crowded.

Nothing of interest as usual.:( Looked high and low for a Redhawk in .45 LC, a Smith M25 (or any kit guns) or a 1st generation Glock 17, nothing.

Confined myself to ammo, books and some odds and ends for my ARs; almost bought a new air rifle. Matt bought a 2nd generation night vision scope, a new gun safe from Johnson (needs bigger one) and some ammo.

Should have scooped up those AKs for 3 bills a piece, but got a few AKs about the Alcazar now.:D

Wish more dealers would bring guns that I need.:D

I went Saturday and it was VERY crowded. At times I felt like I was going to have to start just shoving people to get by. It was crazy! It was FAR too crowded to see anything or to enjoy the show. I probably won't go back in a LONG time if that is how they are going to arrange it in the future. They have tons of space but for some reason they just packed every one in the three small rooms.

I complain about the Fort Wayne show but at least you can breath in there and you can walk around. I was insulted that they did that to us. I felt like we were not important enough to have enough space. The tables were WAY too close together that was the main problem.

As always, I didn't see much I was interested in. I was trying to sell my Marlin Camp 9mm. Somebody on THR probably saw me toting it around with a sour look on my face. I'm not always in a bad mood but I don't like being that crowded and confined. It was really getting to me. I must have asked 20 dealers and individuals about buying it and nobody seemed interested. I waited until they approched me and every one of them was not interested. It was very strang, that Marlin would have sold right away up in Fort Wayne. That is where I am taking next time. I would have no trouble selling it there.

I don't think the Indy show is a good place to sell your guns from past experience. I don't know why it is but I have much better luck at other shows when selling. The Indy show is a good show to buy but not sell or trade. If you have cash, you can get some deals.

I got an excellent Bulg Mak with all the stuff for $120! You don't see that kind of deal anymore. It was from a private party not a dealer. I also got a Hi-Standard HB for $200. I wasn't looking to buy either of these guns but they were the best deals I saw. I was looking for an UZI or an AK and maybe a S&W 19. I had to buy something or the trip would have been a waste of time.

I went Saturday afternoon. it was a good show. I was there to see new stuff, and for entertainment. so didn't feel the need to walk down every row. :)
