URGENT ALERT – YOUR ACTION NEEDED

House Bill 2414, a bill that would result in the banning of nearly every gun you own, may come up for a vote any day now.

The outstanding efforts that gun owners have made to bring attention to this bill are paying off. Some supporters of HB2414 are getting nervous. They have even resorted to telling fibs about their real position on the bill. One of these representatives is Linda Chapa LaVia who is from the Aurora area. In a recent newspaper article, Chapa LaVia claimed that she opposed HB2414. However, Chapa LaVia is signed on as a Co-Sponsor of HB2414. Chapa LaVia is trying to sneak under the radar – telling the public one thing but, when it comes to voting, she’ll side with Daley and Blagojevich.

It’s very important that we remind Chapa LaVia that you are watching her. She needs to know that she can’t have it both ways.

3 THINGS THAT YOU MUST DO TO HELP SAVE YOUR GUNS…

Starting Tuesday morning, you must call Chapa LaVia’s Springfield office at (217) 558-1002. Politely tell the person that answers the phone that you know that Chapa LaVia is a sponsor of HB2414 – the Daley Gun Grab. Then tell them that you also saw the article in the Daily Herald where Chapa LaVia said she opposes HB2414. Ask the person who answers the phone to clarify Chapa LaVia’s stance on HB2414. It does not matter if you live in Chapa LaVia’s district; call anyway – SHE OWES THE GUN OWNERS OF ILLINOIS AN ANSWER.

Pass this urgent alert on to all your gun owning friends and tell them to call Chapa LaVia too.

Post this notice on all gun-related internet chat rooms and bulletin boards to which you belong.

Thanks! The future of your right to keep and bear arms depends on your active support of these efforts.

Webmaster's note: You can read the related part of our copy of the Daily Herald article here.

Thanks for the contact info Jeff. I swear the lawmakers in this state are trying to follow in California's footsteps!

it looks like she has a mustache ,that why she is two sided person . I'll be callin in tuesday morn.

MOLON LABE

I read this last night and it is awfull !!! I have call my senator to and asked that she invite Springfield Armory to move to Wyoming if this passes. Also any brothers or sister of the Recoil Thearpy Group who want to move if and when this passes to the Free State Wyoming feel free to PM and I will help any way I can.:fire:

I just talked to Linda Chapa LaVia's office on galena blvd in Aurora. Expressing my concerns over HB2414. The person I talked to had the notion that this bill is not banning any guns but said it's intended to keep guns out of criminals hands. I told him to keep criminals in jail longer to deter crime or to increase the penalty for possesing a gun illegally. I also mentioned the comparison of DUI. That we don't ban alcohol we increase the penalty for driving drunk. Also the fact that alcohol isn't a constitutional right and 2A is.
I also told him I cannot and will not support Linda at election time.
He then asked my name address and telephone number which I gave to let them know I live in the 83rd district. Don't know what will come out of this?

I just talked to Max, I think his name is, her issues answer man. She is a supporter of HB2414 and they have all kinds of the normal reasons for the support. I won't bother to repeat it here but it is the same old crap that comes from Daley and the Bradys. They have added (according to him) a grandfather clause and something to allow the gun manufacturers to keep making guns to be sold to the military or LEO's. If you can't give them a call just walk out to the alley and look in the trash can, you will see the same kind of garbage.
Oh yes, he also was nice enough to tell me that 80% of Illinois NRA members are in favor of this pro law enforcement bill. Give me a break!!!
Jim.

It looks like to me they are gathering votes by adding amendments. There is a grandfather clause in one of the amendments.

This is a typical politcal tactic. Whenever a sponser sees that his bill is failing, they begin to muddy the water by agreeing to diluted versions. These amendments address a specific group in an attempt to garner their support. For example, the GF amendment is designed to get exisiting gunowners to slack off on their opposition, but it sells out the "un-born" gun owners. Well, statistically they will eventually win because we will all die !! They can appease their urban constituants by perpetuating the lie that "no more of these foul weapons will come into our great state"..... Yeah, cause we know criminals would never bring a gun into Illinois from "out of state"..... why that would be committing a crime !!! :what:

Everyone of these amendments should boil your blood and cause you to fight harder. They are simply insulting your intelligence. On these and all other gun related bills we should stand in support of one another. Hunters, Competition Shooters, Collectors, Recreational Shooters, etc.. One Voice, One Vote.. If we stand apart, they will attack us individually and we will all eventually lose.

First off, I was never able to get through to her office yesterday, except voice mail and they never returned my call....... Nice Representative :fire:

Second, as a retired law enforcement officer, there is one thing that I despise, and it is politicians twisting and distorting things and then claiming to be passing laws to protect law enforcement officers. Yet, these are the same people who repeatedly fight us on issues designed to improve our living conditions. For example, I find it reprehensible that Chicago's Mayor Daley has the audacity to claim he is championing the protection of law enforcement officers in his support of HB2414, yet he will not allow his own retired police officers to be qualified to carry their weapons as per federal law HR218.

When will politicians learn that restricting any weapons from licensed civilians does very little to impact crime? Vigorously enforcing existing laws and assigning appropriate jail sentences does. Rather then actually address their failure on crime issues, they are simply looking to pull the wool over their constituency. It's the same old political sham. Going after an easy target such as licensed gun holders, rather then criminal offenders. After the big media splash what do they actually do to address soaring urban crime? It makes me wonder, why should Chicago's ever expanding crime rate determine whether I can possess a gun? If they can't even properly enforce laws in their geographic area, why are we allowing them to legislate state wide? That's like letting the coyote redesign the chicken coop. Consider that urban cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles, & Washington D.C., have the highest crime rates yet they are also the ones with the most restrictive gun laws. Simply put, removing firearms from licensed civilians does not remove them from Criminals.

Gun owners in this state should not sit by quietly and allow our rights to be infringed upon by this administration. Instead of banning my legally possessed firearms, they need to aggressively prosecute criminals and be accountable to the constituents who elect them. As a New York City police officer, I never feared a licensed gun owner. For once I wish that these politicians would stop trying to protect me from law abiding citizenss and help keep the real criminals off the street.

You have to call her Aurora office to talk to a person.

District Office:
8 E. Galena Blvd. Suite 240
Aurora, IL 60506
(630) 264-6855
(630) 264-6752 FAX
Kane County

little more on my talk with "Max" I had to get ready for work when I posted yesterday so didn't have much time. Talking with him was about like being barefoot and steping on a garden slug, slimy and disgusting.
I mentioned the federal AWB that had sunset and how it had little or no effect during it's lifetime and now it is over we hadnt experienced "blood running in the streets." Answer, "The murder rate went down during that ten years" Me, "yes, but in the 1 1/2 years since the sunset the murder rate has continued to go down." His comeback "Well I didn't mean that was the only reason it went down"
Q) Why is it Chicago has the most restrictive gun laws and the highest murder RATE in Illinois?
A) Because Chicago has more people.
Q) What about the 2A?
A) Well the 1st A has restrictions like yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre, or child porn.

No use trying to make a point to a Sarah Brady parrot spitting out half truths and outright lies, waste of time. Jim.

You know what, if they don't want to talk to me / us, then they can talk to the press. I just contacted the Daily Herald Editorial staff and the writer of the article and told them flat our "she lied to you....." :neener:

I might not have "Uber-Love" for reporters, but I do admire their tenacity, especially when a politician lies to them.

The name sounded familiar....

and then I realized why.......Rep. Linda Chapa LaVia (D-Aurora) has co-sponsored a measure that would ban the possession of everything from water pistols to hunting rifles. The bill in question, HB4132, would ban the sale and possession of so-called "replica weapons" including anything that looks even remotely like a firearm or other materiel produced for military purposes.

Nearly every firearm model for sale in Illinois was either designed for military use, or is used by the military for one purpose or another. Therefore, under this bill, nearly every pistol, revolver, rifle or shotgun owned by Illinois citizens would be banned.

Think about that for a moment. The scope of this bill goes way beyond conventional firearms. They are looking at banning all actual and "Replica" weapons. Every VFW and American Legion Post would have to remove the tanks and howitzers from their property or face prosecution. The cannon adorning town squares across the state would have to be rounded up and destroyed. The dummy grenade paperweight on your desk would have to go as well. Think that's going too far? Well ask yourself, or better yet ask a States Attorney, whether they would refuse to prosecute if this law was passed? Dollars to doughnuts you'll get the stock "Well, it would have to depend on the circumstances." Meaning, we are going to wait till the law is passed and decide on a case by case basis.

On top of that, there are already 40 legislators that have signed on as co-sponsors HB2414 (Including Chapa LaVia). As it only takes 60 votes to pass legislation from the Illinois House, they are very close to having the votes to pass HB 2414. Last year, this bill failed by only 3 votes, so it will be close.

I am asking you to do something. Please contact your representative and tell them to vote against both of these bills. It will only take a moment. If you do not know who your rep is, check the link here: http://www.elections.il.gov/DistrictLocator/SelectSearchType.aspx

If we do not fight for our rights, they are going to take them away. This is a time where every sportsman needs to stand together. Who's to say that your hunting shotgun will be OK? Ever hear of a Winchester Model 1200. It's a 12 Gauge shotgun that was used by the United States military. So which will the politicians decide is the key factor: Shotgun, Brand, or Gauge? Are you going to leave the choice up to them?

Act today, because they are not going to stop this madness without hearing from us. Over the course of the last few weeks I have contacted just about every State Representative and urged them to vote against this. I'm asking you to help. Please contact your representatives and forward this email to your friends and fellow shooters who also need to know. We elect the politicians, they work for us. I'm just asking all of you to be a good boss and give your employees some direction !

Thank you - but don't stop calling

IL: Assault weapons ban hits snag
Submitted by: Bruce W. Krafft

"Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s renewed push for a statewide ban on assault weapons may not be called for a vote this spring."

"On Monday, one of his top allies in the General Assembly said the issue might be just too contentious to move forward before lawmakers are scheduled to adjourn for the spring on April 7."

"'I don’t think anything will happen with that,' said Senate President Emil Jones, D-Chicago, who is co-chairman of the governor’s re-election effort. 'It would be very difficult to pass that over here.'"

"That assessment comes just five weeks after Blagojevich made the assault weapons ban a cornerstone of his State of the State speech." ...

PLEASE KEEP CALLING...................

Please call Senator Emil Jones Office

and let him know what you think..

sorry for the additional post...

Cut the state in half!!!

I'm sorry to say but I wish we could cut her in half at about Springfield. The southern Illinois liberals know their J. O. B. is on the line when they utter any of the northern Illinois liberal stupidity. If the Blogo & Daley scheme is to be thwarted it will be because our southern Illinois liberals better vote our way or it's the highway. God I hate Illinois politicians.:barf:

Not try my foot!

"'I don’t think anything will happen with that,' said Senate President Emil Jones, D-Chicago, who is co-chairman of the governor’s re-election effort. 'It would be very difficult to pass that over here.'"

Don't even think about taking your eye off this issue for a minute!

The lieing sacks of s--- that pass for representatives and state senators in Springfield from Chicago will pass this in a heartbeat in a late night session or as a rider on another bill for school funding, if they think they can get away with it.

They know the Chicago Tribune will support and applaud them in the editorial section and Daley will buy them a cookie the first chance he gets. Daley needs a big downstate victory before the next election go-around. "Little Luis" Guitierrez and Jesse Jr are both already breathing down his neck.
