Have seen photos of Hogue wood grips on a 686, but I'm considering replacing the rubber grips for the S&W factory target grips. I have a M686-5, round butt stainless. Anyone have such grips who could share a photo? Actually, I like the smooth presentation target, but have been anable to locate them for a L frame, round butt, 686. I'm open to any suggestions.

I took a couple pictures of my 686-5, but they didn't turn out well. I am a camera retard.:(

As you well know, the 686-5 is a round butt revolver. To put a pair of square butt target grip on the gun, you will need to fabricate a wedge. The wedge is then glued onto one side of the grip.

You guys get the idea.

Does anybody have a good source for grips like those? I have a 686 no dash with pachmayer's...

It is a 686 no dash model. My stepdad bought it around 20 years ago, or so. I need to ask him. I know that last year he brought it up to go shooting. It had been in a wool-lined case for 13 years at that point. I bought from him a few weeks ago. I love it.

Then I believe it would be a square butt gun.

FWIW
When I put my square butt grips on my round butt 686, it changed the point of aim. I had the sights dialed right in with the original grips, but couldn't hit squat after I changed them.
