Does anyone know of any in-store or online retailers where I can pick up a few boxes/brick of Dynapoint? I've heard good things about it, however haven't been able to find anywhere to buy it.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if it is back out yet. Apparently they moved the plant where it was made which shut down production for a while. I spoke with the Reps at SHOT and they said that it was going to be made again but that it might take some time.

Every once in a while, a brick shows up at Wal-Mart. Last time I saw one, I thought "good, they're back in production", and didn't buy it. That was a couple months ago. Next time I see any, I'm buying it.

I hope it doesn't go away, that's the best stuff I've found for my 10/22. Accurate, reliable, and fairly clean.

I've been lucky and found scattered boxes at K-Marts. I found 12 last stop, bought 6. I won't tell you where!!!
I hope they resume production...my Buckmark loves them.

I shot some Dynapoints through a CZ 452 yesterday, with exceptionally good results in terms of accuracy.

However, I should point out that I have purchased Dynapoints before that barely clocked 1050fps out of a Ruger 10/22. They are advertised as high velocity, but my experience suggests that they're really not... Even with the 40gr dimpled bullet, they will not reliably function a Bersa 23 and an Astra Constable that I have because of the low velocity (and, therefore, low recoil impulse).

For what it's worth...

Grafs is out of stock as well. If the KMART near you still has ammo, there is a chance that they still have dynapoints in stock. They used to stock them, and I still see it periodically at various locations...

I did not see any in Tulsa.

I have not seen any in Central AR either.

My concern is, will the new mfg be the same as the old? I'm a wee bit skeptical, and very upset with some ammo and new equipment, changes made or locations moved.

I hope it stays the same and more availble.

"My concern is, will the new mfg be the same as the old?"

I had that exact same thought, Steve. If they move the plant and all the machinery, will they be able to turn out the same cartridges that seemed to be magic, cheap magic? No doubt the personel will change, probably the machinery will change, suppliers might change, the gravity in the new location might be different - no wait, that shouldn't be a problem.

It's akin to growing excellent tomatoes in one spot of the garden. You really have no clue why they turn out good. Then you go and move your garden to a different area and the tomatoes can't group for beans! (How's that for a mixed metaphor? :) )

I've got about 2500 rounds left of it, it doesn't shoot so great for me, though I'd trade it with someone in the Sullivan County, NY or PA side of the Delaware

The winchester 22Mag dynaturd, is Welfare ammo.

May the marketing genius who thought that garbage was a good idea for 22wmr be the recipient of 1000 laboratory leeches attached to their genitals.
