I've been thinking about picking up a 3" round butt K-frame and, having lived in the Tampa area practically my whole life, I am curious about the possibility of finding a Tampa PD gun. I seem to remember seeing most cops back then wearing stainless round butt K-frame revolvers, but I don't know whether they were 64s, 65s, or 66s. Could anyone tell me what revolvers the Tampa Police Department used during the 1980s? Also, were TPD guns specially marked?

I know there are tons of police surplus revolvers out there. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding guns from particular agencies?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know what to tell you. A search didn't turn up anything. Finding a surplus police revolver is easy, finding a specific police department revolver is going to be hard.

I have two police revolvers, both model 64's. One is a NYPD gun, the other is a Detroit PD gun. The DPD guns were never supposed to be sold in MI, it cas a condition of the sale. How this one came back I'll never know, but being a MI resident I couldn't pass it up.
