I'll approve of it when, and only when, every single bodyguard for every politician (inlcuding those in the UN), every police officer, and every member of every "civilized" military uses them exclusively.

And every violent criminal as well.

Gives a new meaning to identity theft. someone would find a way to hack your gun. hehehe

Oh... and what if your guns are networked such that when you pull the trigger on the gun you have aimed at the bad guy your backup weapon fires instead?

Or what if the bad guy's gun is running Linux and is both faster and more reliable? :neener:

(Of course, TCO is higher, so BG's will have to pay more for a reliable weapon.)

MS-DOS: You draw your gun and try to remember where the trigger is.

Windows: You draw your gun and pull the trigger very slowly, because attached to the back of the trigger is a freight train.

Macintosh System 7: You draw your gun to shoot the BG, and the gun shoots a garbage can.

UNIX: You draw your gun and type GREP BAD_GUY. After reaching a cyclic rate of 900 rounds per minute, your gun has shot another mugger a quarter mile away.

Windows NT: You draw your gun and write a letter that says, "shoot the BG." Then you stuff the letter into the muzzle.

OS/2: After loading 600 rounds into the magazine, you draw your gun to shoot the BG while you're accompanied by a SWAT team and the National Guard. Halfway there, the gun KBs, killing everybody in town.

Hey, it could happen. :neener: :D

The same people who mandate serial numbers etc on ammo are the same one's who would outlaw gravity if they could. Reality simply does not bother these people. Stupid comment aside, grabbers are shifting their sights from firearms to ammo.

+1.

By the way, I fully expect the PRNJ to pass a law mandating that only guns equipped with this system may be purchase by NJ civilians (i.e. those few who actually get approved by their local PDs). The same law will mandate that the police and other LE personnel are exempt from all of the provisions.

That is idiotic. If a foolish concept like this one ever takes root in reality, I sure hope the "inventor" is held liable when it backfires and renders an innocent person unable to defend him or herself.

Didn't GWB recently sign legislation that would not allow that?

Lawful Commerce in Arms doesn't stop lawsuits against makers of defective guns, only suing manufacturers for the unlawful use of their product by third parties.

Hilter could of used that technology to deal with that problem of resistance fighters getting ahold of of the nazi henchmens guns. The technology is not very useful for those wanting to defend themselves. The technology in question is very useful to a police state.

the anti's have been against ammo for some time now. Remember "cop-killer" bullets like Black Talon? How a HP 9mm bullet would go through a heavy kevlar vest is beyond me

Think about this for a minute. they have designed transmitters that will kill the electronics in a car to stop it. They would have the same thing in the guns. If there was a riot or something, They could just hit the button and all guns in the vacinity would be useless. That is true gun control.:cuss:

It's all Chris Rock's fault. "We don't need gun control, we need bullet control!"

So someone pumping 1000 or so watts thru a CB transmitter would likely set off all the ammo in a gunstore. brilliant.

How dumb is this?

Dumber than a 50-Lb sack of Pet Rocks.

This "RF" controlled primer thing...Why do you suppose that in Road Construction/Building Demolition areas, those doing the blasting DEMAND that you turn off cel-fones/2-way radios/Blackberry devices, etc ? ? ? ?

RF Energy can do a lot of things..both good and bad. All 'wireless' communications use RF...as well as Microwave ovens.

If we actually has the RF-controlled primers, I think that ctdonath's confirmation window would have 2 choices...No or No

Many gun enthusiasts would rather get a swift kick in the crotch than buy password protected ammunition...

*** do the anti's think they can shove down our throats?

They can't, of course. That was a misunderstanding by a reporter suffering from a state of abject ignorance, who confused hollowpoints with AP. Handgun bullets made of materials that would allow them to penetrate Kevlar were banned in 1986, and had nothing to do with the "Black Talon" hysteria.
