3-gun "Jogging Stroller" Setup

I guess that would be better than a wheelbarrow.

Drop a message to Correia. He shoots 3-gun, and likely knows what you're talking about. I've seen setups like these, but haven't the faintest idea what they cost or where they can be found.

Shotgunners have a lot of them that can be easily modded.
I think we got ours from rugged gear. (it's shotgun centric, but it works for 3gun)
they really are great, you'll never go back.

Tarpley, this is the place that you want it. The posters in comp shooting are pretty hard core.

I don't use one of these, so don't know anything about them. I carry my crap.

I'm not a 3 gun shooter, but the cart you posted a link to looks very much like the Rugged Gear cart I use for sporting clays.

and you'll also see wagons set up to carry gear (that's what I use, I have room for it, it doubles as a .... wagon, and you can put a bunch of stuff in it.

Folks have found a way to mount umbrella's, coolers, etc.

Saw someone with a mover's handcart too. Had welded diamond plate where he wanted it. Stick ~1000 rounds towards the bottom of the load and it'll stand up in the heaviest of breezes.


But there's no denying the superiority of a tactical wheelbarow ...

Tarpley, in all seriousness, I moved the thread here because even though the volume of responses you'll get will be fewer, the amount of useful information will most likely be much higher. If THR ceases to be a useful resource then it no longer has a reason to exist.

My gun-stuff cart looks like the following:

I discard the inner bag. Long guns are in soft aces & bungeed along near the handle. Ammo is in the bottom. It folds into a much slimmer package. I paid $35 new.

We have two of these we bought at gragge sales, $20 each.

One has an undersling storage area, the other doesn't.

This brand isn't as super-tough as others, but it went up many trails in Big Bend Nat'l Park with my 6MO boy strapped in and lots of gear underneath.

I will likely keep one or both & customize them as gun carts after the kids outgrow them.

They retail for ~$100.

Diarmuid, no need to wake a 4 year old thread to sell baby jogging strollers now that you have joined you can sell stuff in the proper classified but welcome just the same.


When I set out to build one a few years ago I bid on a few at Ebay and won two for a total investment of $35 (a single new one was well over $100). I sold one to a fellow 3-gunner and made some brackets to hold ATV gun racks.





The ATV mounts cost more than the stroller but you can use them for more than just the 3-gun cart.

You guys and your "tactical wheelbarrows" crack me up... What about sling the rifle on the right shoulder, the shotgun on the left, the pistol in a holster, and carry your ammo... That's how we always did it at Ft. Campbell... Besides, carrying your stuff keeps you physically fit, and when you're physically fit you will shoot better.

I agree that you do many things in life better the more physically fit you are. However, If unnecessary labor is a key to a good performance Tiger Woods would carry his own clubs.

I don't even want to get on the topic of Tigers Wood. He was playing more than golf, and that's talent most of us could never aspire to

Really though, I do see the point, I wouldn't want to lug around multiple long arms, pistols, ammo and the rest all day for several different matches, so I'd likely want something similar. If I'm just there for one or two 3 gun matches though, I likely have just a small amount of equipment and would find it easier to simply carry it.

Shooting 3gun involves carrying a lot of gear, including stuff beyond just your rifle, pistol, shotgun and a box or two of ammo.
In addition to all the regular stuff there's a lot of ancillary gear that is either mandatory, or helps to make the match a better experience. You know, stuff like eye and ear protection, a pile of magazines, magazine carriers, shotgun shell carriers, score sheets, spare belt, spare gun parts, sun block, water, snacks, spare shot timer, pens, etc. While a lot of it is little stuff, it pays to have an easy way to organize it all.

Also, some matches may or may not have a rule requiring that long guns must be cased or otherwise safely carried when brought to the line. Just slinging a rifle or shotgun over your shoulder can present safety issues.

FWIW, I'm not a huge fan of the three-wheeled carts. I've tried a number of solutions for carrying gear, including soft-sided cases that can be slung, hard-sided cases, and a backpack made for toting firearms. The last solution seems to be the most convenient and least dorky, and depending on the match, I'll use my Eberlestock Gunslinger pack. My only gripe about the pack is that Eberlestock doesn't make a side-mounted shotgun scabbard that's long enough for my shotgun.

Carrying gear from a car to a shooting position isn't going to keep you in shape.

That's why I go to Crossfit.
