TX - GET OUT AND VOTE! - TSRA Voters Guide

Huh, this is interesting.

In three different Fed Congressional races, Ds are endorsed over Rs (and then a handful of unopposed Ds are endorsed).

Two of the (opposed) endorsed Ds are incumbents, one is a challenger.

Out of the 11 who failed to return TSRA's survey, only one was R.

Only three people scored in the "F" category, all D incumbents.

3rd parties not included in survey. I suppose Libs and Commies tend to fall on pretty opposite extremes anyway, not much point in surveying them. Greens might go either way.

I'm a 3rd party guy myself, but this is pretty interesting overall. I'm going to hold my vote until the last minute, to see if I can help in any close calls. If no close calls in a given election, I'll vote Lib. If close calls, I'll vote for whoever backs greater personal liberty (including but not exclusive to gun rights).

After reading about politics on gun forums I'm about ready to join the 50% of America that doesn't vote anymore.

Early voting has a major problem which can be exploited for a cause: the self-fulfilling prophecy.

In many elections, posting the results as they become known in New York after the polls close, has caused California and Hawaii voters to not vote in cases where the western area polls are still open, but the LANDSLIDE victories in the east tells them that their vote will not change the outcome.

Similarly, if EVERY 2A/personal freedom enthusiast came out and voted by 03 November; we may just convince some fence-sitting-but-leaning-anti-2A traitors...oops, I mean voters to NOT VOTE if they see their vote as not counting.

It magnifies the value of your vote.

We may even win something outright. You never know.

So get out and vote early.

With all of California's electoral votes, it would have to be a true runaway landslide for them to have no effect. These elections are all state and local. It doesn't matter what goes on in other states.

I completed my civic duty today. I did my part to retain our 2A rights. Now it's up to the rest.

Any quick opinions on Governor? I am still leaning toward Perry, but I don't know. I think my only real goal is to prevent the Democrat from winning.

I put in my vote for Kinky. He IS pro 2A, and I believe will be a surprise upset come November 7th. Other issues that I found liking for, was his plans to push for major expansion of renewable energy sources. IMO, the guy is alot more of a sane sounding Libertarian, and I find myself not too happy with the TTC land grab transportation corridor that Perry is pushing hard.

The TTC thing was my main concern about Perry. I have seen too many conflicting comments from Kinky to want to vote for him. Thanks for your thoughts.

Politics and Gun forums

Hey folks...I am a new member that was attracted to the gun forum to learn something about GUNS!!! If I want to hear about politics I'll go back to TV.
Remember the old saying about Religion and Politics? Please give it a break.

highhawk, since this is a forum titled 'legal and political', it should be obvious you'll find politics in here. If you're only interest is learning about guns, I suggest the other forum topics within this messabe board.

and this is how the NFA of '34, '68 and '86. and AWB were passed. cause people like you didn't care about politics.

you saw the title of the board was "Legal and Political" and the tread was "TX - Early Voting Starts Tomorrow - TSRA Voters Guide " you didn't have to come in here and spend your oh so precious time reading these political treads.

for you information the TSRA is the Texas State Rifle Association, the oldest currently active state level Rifle Association in America. and they have come up with a voter guide so we may be informed on the candidates and there second amendment views. Cause the people you vote for... or don't vote for today will impact your right to own those guns you oh so love in the future.

Voting and gun rights

Wasn't my intent to step on anyone's toes with my remark. I voted over a week ago for my local congress critturs who I felt would stand up for my gun rights!! I will be sure from here on in to remember my place on the forum content.....Thanks.

I put my .02 in. I even kinda "waved" my TSRA PAC guide around a bit.

Seems to me we passed a constitutional amendment in the 80's or 90's protecting hunting, fishing, and ranges in Texas already. Granted, our state constitution is written on an Etch-A-Sketch, by design, following Reconstruction, requiring a constitutional amendment to change colors in the men's room in the Capitol building, but in Texas that's not necessarily a bad thing.

When the side of the house with a D after their name runs off to Oklahoma to avoid voting on an issue in a special session, I don't think gridlock is so bad a deal.
