What is your dream hunting trip?

Being a quarter German, I'd love to attend a traditional German Roe buck hunt in Germany. Waidmanns Heil.

Could I work a time machine into the deal?

I'd like one more chance at deer hunting with my Grandpa. Location unimportant. Say around 1978.

A week long hunt in Argentina with my father, sister, and brother-in-law. A couple of days for Red Stag hunting in the foothills, three days of non-stop dove shooting, then a little upland bird hunting on the way back to the airport.

African Buffalo. walking after the herd, finding a big boy with a huge boss and mean horns. Gun to use would be a 416 Rigby or similar. Would definately need a pro. hunter /guide experienced in big game hunting and to ensure the follow up shot if neccessary. Just a dream for us in S Africa......very pricey!!

My dream hunt will happen just as soon as my son is old enough to go with me.He wanted to go this year even stole my hunting coat and hat and was wearing them around while I was getting lunch.

out of africa, is it possible for you guys just to sneak off somewhere and shoot a few buffalo ? I mean like in some country where the goverment hardly knows what is going on anyway. Or are all the herds heavily managed now?

A Gizzy bear hunt with my big bro and a friend of his that always let a certain little snot nose 12 to 18 year old (Me) go with them many decades ago. Tramping through the woods was a great joy both from learning, experiencing and just seeing the sights of nature. Shooting wasa nice adjunct to the whole day. I may yet just get them together and sponsor their hunt for the good times they shared with me when I was very young, though it might "only" be for a Black bear or elk or other.

If I get to really DREAM I'd sure like for my Dad and next oldest bro to be there too(both deceased now).

An elk hunt where I actually kill one. My dad and a couple buddies of mine accompanying. .300 Win Mag the weapon of choice.

Seriously though, I would think my ultimate dream hunt would be for Dall Sheep in Alaska. From the stories I have read and heard, that is a real adventure.

Second, maybe coming soon, a bull elk hunt in NW Colorado. I'm getting close to the 14-16 preference points needed for the areas I'm interested in. Don't know if I can justify the price of a guide, but this may be a once in a lifetime hunt. May have to convince Mrs NRA4LIFE that it is money well spent. Don't know what I'm going to do.

Have to agree with an earlier poster about moose. The half dozen or so moose I've seen in the wild would have been like shooting cows. All just stood there and stared at me. Plus, I helped a friend butcher a humungous old bull he shot here in WA and although the meat was really tasty, it was so tough we had to grind it all for burger/sausage or cook it in the crockpot for a whole day.

To go Croc hunting in Africa, I would bring a photographer to flim the hunt and also Steve Erwin. I would pack my Remington 870 Super Magnum with a few 3 in Magnum slugs.

The wife and I were talking about this over dinner last night. My ideal hunt would be a fly in hunt to a remote area of Canada. Black bear, white tail deer, and wolf. A Remington .30/06 is all I would need to take. I would take my wife she is my best friend and hunting partner. My dream hunt would include a nice warm lodge with great food after each days hunt. Plenty of hunting stories and talk about the next days hunt. Life is good.

Been working on a Bear hunt with my son, brother & brother in-law. We almost went this year but lack of vacation time & some flooding problems nixed those plans.

I want to go pronghorn hunting someday, might not sound like the ultimate thing to do but to me it's a goal.

no time limit and no budget?!!!!!!

First to Africa for everything in plains game and big 5 (just a couple of months), then a small detour through Kazakhstan for urial/ marco polo sheep, then a return via alaska for moose, caribou, wolves, wolverine, black and coastal brown bear and grizzly (another month or so) then come back through west texas for pronghorn and mule deer. I would take my brother and bring along the .458 lott, the .375 h&h, the .300 mag, and the 7mm-08. Then I would build a new house (aka trophy room).

Mine would be a Caribou or a Moose hunt, not specifically for a trophy. Elk would be up there too but I don't need to leave the country for that.

Busting Feral Swine Down in Ok. or Tx. would be a good time too but again could be done on the cheap.

Dream hunt

I actually have 2 dream hunts of witch I will probabally never get. but here they are one is to alaska for moose, the other is to sask. for there big trophy whitetail.
I would take my Dad and two brothers.
I would use my 35 whelen
Dad -30-06
brother one- 303 british
brother two- 300 Win Mag
Now that would be a dream come true.

Every hunt I go on is a dream.

I live for the one week in November each year at Deer Camp with my cousins and friends.

I totally enjoy the upland bird and rabbit hunts in the late fall early winter with my daugther and other family and friends.

I can't wait for my son to be old enough to complete his hunter safety ed course (another 3-4 years as he's only 6 now). I've got a picture of him on my desk of him at age 3 wearing a onesy and my hunting boots that go all the way to his hips. The smile on his face is iimmense.

Unfortunately, he's also crushed each time me and his older sister go out hunting and does not get to go. I keep tellling him that his time will come.......

Since it is a dream hunt - going quail hunting with my dad in the late 50's on the same ground we used to hunt. If I didn't have family I would give everything I own for a one day hunt.

Arctic polar bear hunt, with my brother, my old man, and my son (he's only 4 now, though, and by the time he's old enough for somthing like this, my father will be too old). I guess I'd have to bring my Marlin in 45-70, as weapon was limited to what we actually own. I don't know if that would be sufficient, though.
