Pro 2A Washington TFL/THR "shootin's a hoot" gala extravanzia and survival week-end

The date is set for the weekend of June 16th. This is planned to be a two day event if you wish to camp over night otherwise we will get together on a daily basis. The location will be around Ellensbrg, Vantage, or Yakima to keep it more central. Keep posted for more details. You will eventually be requested for an email address to receive group information from MSN to keep it organized and keep this thread shorter. Hope to meet a bunch of new faces in June.

Breif description in Post #21 from last year.

When you say "are all welcome" what do you have in mind? We want responsible High Roaders etc... that think Safety first, are gun enthusiasts and are willing to help out and can behave in a group environment. (It helps to have cool guns and lots of ammo too ). Hopefully you can make it.

I've been known to cook a bit and will plan for three or four pork butts for some pulled pork. Let me know if you want more.

Polish promised not to turn my pot roast/stew into soup this year, so I'll probably bring that again. A few doz eggs and some of that good bacon. I'll load a couple of milk crates with water, too.

How far off the beaten path is this event? My car isn't too fond of dirt roads unfortunately.

Last year it was at the Polishrifleman's nice piece of property. It's in the boonies but is not a problem to get to with you're basic four door sedan type. If ya got a 'vette just drive slow and you'll be fine.


You'll have to bring your own accomodations.......I slept in my Jeep Liberty both nights and it was just fine.

Sounds fun, though I don't have a lot of guns to bring. I just may do this....

Busy, no need to have a lot of thunder to bring, some sharing goes on but isn't a requirement it is more about getting together putting faces with online handles and hanging out with some genuine good people. Hopefully you can make it and maybe Pops will let you shoot his boom stick.

I imagine that if you brought a box of any popular cartridge you would find something to shoot it through. Just a guess...

Any specific assigning of food duties? And, more importantly, how do you keep foods refrigerated? I'm guessing big coolers and lots of ice?

If I make it I can whip up a mean batch of pulled pork BBQ for sandwiches.

Yep, food will come together in May when we firm up the headcount. On the keeping things cold front ice and coolers it is.

Now I just might be able to make it this year, with this sort of advance notice. I had a scheduling conflict last year. I have blocked out this weekend on my calendar.

Hmmmm Since the kids will be in school possibly into August due to snow day makeups, I don't forsee a vacation this summer. Daddy may need a weekend away.

Location

The location will be the same as last year. It is off Manastash Ridge about 30 minutes off I-90 at Thorp/Ellensburg so for those of you traveling add 30 minutes onto your travel time to Thorp/Ellensburg and you will know approximately how long it will take you.

Are Montanans allowed? I might be willing to make the drive to meet some fellow THR members if my finances allow.

Is there a date for this yet?

Weekend of June 16th. Some of us will be showing up on Friday afternoon and staying till Sunday afternoon with others coming in and out at various times.

We would love to have guys from Montana, Oregon, and Idaho if they can make it. If you are taking I-90 it is about 3hrs from Spokane.

Let me know if you decide to come west on I-90. I think I'll be heading up Friday, unless I have to work that as a snow day.

Potential Date Change

I just fianlly found out that the 17th is Father's Day. Does that affect anyone else in a negative way for showing up? I think we still have time to move this to the next weekend of the 23rd.

What do you guys think?
