Do you like double action semiautos?

I tried to like them, I really did. Went out and bought a SIG 220ST and put about 3000 rounds through it practicing the DA to SA transitions. The gun shoots great, and I even got pretty good with it.

But, a couple of Baer's later and I'm back to 1911's.

Love mine. No issues shooting it, but it does take practice. Much more so than the 3lb SAs that people brag about.

I like them. I dont see what the difference is between a revolver with a DA trigger and a semi-auto with a DA trigger? I

Personally I love DAO guns. I enjoy my the LEM trigger system by HK and the DAK by Sig. I also enjoy Glocks a lot.

I dont much care for a safety on my guns. I may forget it when I need to remember the fact that it is there.

Nice thing about DAO is that I use the same actions when firing my revolvers...nothing like uniformity!

I agree. I have both DAO (taurus milpro) and DA/SA autos. The single action auto is more accurate, but from a practical standpoint the DAO wins out. It's like shooting a revolver with more capacity, less recoil, and a lighter trigger! What's not to like! :) Plus I don't go thru ammo as fast.

Not counting striker fired weapons, like my "safe action" Glocks and my Kahr, I only own one type of DA auto, my Makarovs. Since there isn't a viable ambi safety for this platform I don't mind that the first shot is DA. I feel just as comfortable carrying it with one in the tube, safety off, in a decent holster as I do with my DA revolvers. Yes, the transistion from DA to SA is something that you need to get used to, but it doesn't seem to hinder accuracy.

Many of my guns are DA/SA with that long first shot trigger pull. I really prefer the DAO like my Glocks. The trigger is fairly easy to pull, and is consistant with its pull and feel....

I much prefer SA pulls, for obvious reasons, but I can imagine rare occasions when I might want to carry DA. Just one more reason to prefer CZ 75B's - you can go either DA or cocked and locked.

As long as the gun fits my hand and the first DA pull is smooth and not overly heavy I much prefer DA/SA guns. Without a manual safety is also a preference. Sigs being my favorite. Pull, point (aim), and fire. The difficulty in transition from DA to SA as long as it meets the first two conditions I mentioned is was overstated buy those the prefer SAO autos. Even my much loved Beretta 96 is a G model (no manual safety) with a short trigger and a trigger job by Ernest Langdon. A super swee shooter.

DA AUTOS

i guess i am a fence sitter. i own a keltec p32 doa and bersa t380 da/sa. i like and daily carry both of them. i sold my glocks but shot them well and had no problem with the N.Y. trigger.

I like both. :D
For CCW I carry a Sig P229 .40 DAK. The DAK trigger is nice and smooth, breaks at about 6 lbs, and has a short pull before it breaks. I can shoot it just as well as any of my da/sa guns.
I have an Hk USP compact .40 with the LEM trigger and don't care for it at all. The pull is much longer and it feals really strange. It is very light at the begining of the pull and then it starts to stack up before it finally breaks. I'll probably convert it back to da/sa or trade it on another Sig :D

I never really warmed up well to DA/SA autos, always having difficulty with the DA/SA trigger transition. Part of this may be that my pistols of this type have all been double-stack, with the attending hand fit problem. I might do better with a single-stack/slim grip, e.g., a S&W 3913. I shoot far better with short-stroke DAOs (GLOCK and now S&W M&P) or single-actions (1911-style).

Since I am an old revolver shooter, the double action pistol is just about the same, at least to me. I have several and love to shoot them all. Took one of my buddies to the range with me and was shooting one of my revolvers double action and when it was empty I picked up my Taurus PT-145 and shot it as good as the revolver. My buddy was impressed. He has never been able to shoot worth a darn double action so all his revolvers are single action and he only has one semi-auto. It was formerly my Springfield Champion that I customized and that is all he will ever want......hmmm I wonder what it would be like to be happy with one gun!!!!:what:
