Bought a P220 non rail "G" serial number a month or so ago and bought another CPO, which should be in this week sometime. After which I discovered that there was such a thing as Signess going around. Damn if I didn't catch it.

I might as well go along for the ride. I got a .40 229 two tone CPO about a month ago. I love it. I am waiting on my dealer to get a CPO 239 two tone in .40, just because one is not enough.

muddflap: I love my P239. It took me a bit of shooting to get used to it, but I'm really digging that pistol. I shot it back to back with a Glock 34 tonight, and I was reminded how much I like SIGs in general. The P239 is a really nice piece; the only issue I have with it is I don't always return on target as accurately as the full framed SIGs. I think maybe it moves around in my hands on occasion. Maybe the Hogues would help (but I really like the stockers for carry!). In any case, I'm still able to fast fire 21 feet and under into one hole, so good enough

Not to divert the SIG club too much, but how do you like that NAA Guardian, muddflap? I've been thinking about one of those for when the P239 is even too big. How's the recoil, say, compared to a J-frame stoked with +P?

I just got the NAA at a gunshow this last weekend, so haven't had much of a chance to shoot it. It is a heavy little bugger. I did take it out in the back yard, I live in the country, and run 2 magazines through it. That's 12 rounds, and it did pretty well. The sights are pretty much imaginary, but it's not a target gun. I hit a paper plate all 12 times at about 20 ft. I have never shot a J frame gun, but the NAA has a pretty good snap to it. The magazine with the extender definately works best. I have ordered a DeSantis pocket holster for it, and I'm really anxious to try it out.

loplop: Beretta PX4, 9mm. It's very nice and fits large palms/hands well.

I took your advice and tried the other magazine, and it cycled through it okay (I wasn't at the range tonight to try shooting it again).

What goes bad in a new magazine ? The springs ?

I've got a ten-year-old Butler Creek speedloader that I bought for my double-wide Beretta 92FS mags. Works like a champ, haven't seen anything like it since. I was using it on my single-wide SIG mags, and I'm wondering if I didn't crush down the upper magazine lips a bit. Is this a known failure mode ?

Silver Bullet. I'm sorry if this is a repeat Q, but did you disassemble and clean the mag when you bought the gun? SIG coats their guns and mags in cosmoline , which is quite sticky. It could make a mag malfunction if it was really gooey in there.

Muddflap, I thank you for the thoughts on the NAA Guardian. I was really impressed with the construction of the Guardian when I looked at it the other day. It made the KelTec feel so cheap. Not that looks are everything... But the machining was nice, it was smooth to operate, and exuded quality. I was frankly pretty surprised how nice it was. Heavy, though... Heavier than my j-frame.

Blind Ref: that is a very nice gun. My first 3 pistols were Colt's. Gotta love the Pony I've seen a few of those around, but never in great shape, they always seem to be a little beat up. What do you carry in your 380?

I went to the range yesterday and was perusing magazines in the lounge while waiting on a buddy of mine. I happened to see an article about the new SIG P220 Carry SAO, by Mas Ayoob. Personally I'm not going back to SAO because I just transitioned from 1911's and I like the DA/SA, but I do agree with his assertion that the 220 Carry's are light recoiling weapons. My memory is probably more distant than his when it comes to a P220 ("full size"), but I have shot a lot of 1911's and I think my P220 Carry is softer to shoot than the 1911. I'm not sure why; Ayoob said the SIG rep claims it's the lighter/smaller slide... Who knows, it is a fine shooter, though.

I love Sigs! I currently own 5 of them.

A dedicated Sig fan here. My wife and I recently moved and unfortunately I had to sell off my P220ST to help pay for moving expenses.

However, I kept this:

I moved from Florida to Colorado so the cost of living difference is hitting hard. Once we get things stabilized I'll starting building up the collection again. On the list:

• Sig P220ST
• Sig 556
• Sig GSR
• Another Savage 10FP build to play sniper (Savage 10FP, B&C Medalist stock, Super Sniper scope, Ken Farrell 20MOA base and rings) now that I can find somewhere longer than 100 yards to shoot.
• Any other Sig pistols I can get my hands on

Since I was bit by the Sig bug I've owned (in order) P226R, P239, P229, & the GSR. Why did I get rid of them? Mostly selling one to get another. I have a deal with my wife on the number of firearms I can own at any one time. :banghead: Anyway, the P220C SAO is a permanent addition; it's not going ANYWHERE.

He mentions a review he did for another magazine on the P220 Carry SAO. I'd love to find that one also.

I'll check the magazine. It wasn't one of the ones I read regularly, and I did a double take to see what author wrote it because he said he was buying one. Definitely NOT Guns Magazine.

It was a very positive review. He is a fan of manual safeties.

There's a fullsize P220 Equinox at a local shop, used but unfired. $750. That would make someone a killer deal.

Me, I like the Carry model. I have a Milt Sparks Watch Six coming for it. I carry my P239 in a Versa Max II, but I'm thinking the slightly slimmer W6 will help with concealment a bit.

I found a P245 CPO in my area. Would someone who has owned/owns/has shot a P245 care to comment on the piece? How does the new P220 Compact compare (I know about the beaver).

I happened to find a very nice condition used P232SL (slim grips) at a local gun shop. The sights are three dot, with red dots. A little harder to acquire than white dots for me. Has anyone shot this configuration and could comment on the sights?

I'll have to wrangle up some Nill's if I grab that thing

How is the P232 size-wise, compared to the Colt Mustang 1BLINDREF posted above? It slipped into my pocket just fine, but it did feel larger than the Kahr PM9 I used as a comparo. Dimensionally, SIG's website shows it to be close to my P239 but for some reason it feels much smaller in hand.

I'm looking for a deeper concealment pistol than my P239 and J-frame. Has anyone carried the P232 in a pocket holster? It might be a tad larger than I'd like. Certainly not as concealable as the NAA guardian mentioned above, and larger than the "default pick" of the Kahr PM9 (which I will not buy due to spotty reliability).

I called and setup the Sig Service Plan for my P228. I emailed SIG customer service and had a reply in 20 minutes. Nice! It's going back to the mothership for the functional check/replacements and the night sights. I decided not to have the frame and slide nitron'd, as the factory blue is mostly cosmetically worn... I'll leave it as-is so it can tell me stories of its past
