Small Wonder Sight on Ruger SP101?

I have the tritium front sight on my 3" .357. The gun is set up for 158grain rounds. With .357 158gr JSPs, POA / POI at 7 yards is acheived by having the front sight "cut in half" by the top of the rear sight notch.

In low-light shooting, putting the glowing dot on the COM generates acceptable hits.

The sight works pretty well for my carry load (Speer 135gr SBGD) and 145gr Silvertips - the 158gr JSPs are a little too much of a handful to consider for rapid follow-up, even with the 4 port comp.

I don't use that sight, but I do have a tritium front sight on my SP101 and it makes a big difference for me in situations where I can easily see my target but have trouble with the sight.

It looks like a good product, let us know how it works out if you try it.

I shipped them the gun and they installed the sight and shipped it back to my door. Excellent customer service. I have used them in the past.

I believe that the installation is a bit complex, but nothing anyone milling experience and equipment could not complete. I know it was certainly beyond my skill level. IWI did a really good job, the sight looks like it came from the factory.



I will try to get a better picture of sight later.

My tritium sight was from Marc and Gemini Customs as a "Small Wonder Sight".

It was installed by Marc while he was completing the rest of the work on the revolver (Bead Blast Package with 4 port comp job, action job, front sight, and CT grips). The sight was designed to be a drop in part - press out the roll pin holding the factory sight, and replace with the Small Wonder sight, then replace the pin. Give Marc a call to see if the tritium option is still available.
