Shooter and Marc Walberg...

Guys, we're missing something.

Walberg is an ACTOR - probably not a complete "anti," but just a well-intentioned, but ignorant, fellow with a big mouth. Frankly, a LOT of "antis" are nothing but well-intentioned but ignorant folks...

And he's been growing up.

Now, what's the best way to convert someone over to a pro-gun way of thinking?

Take 'em to the range.

Well, he's been took.

And maybe it'll take.

I know he'd be welcome to go shooting with me. Frankly, just about anyone is. Because range time is our best ambassador - the best way we can get our foot in the door.

I enjoyed it.
Put a couple of big anti-gunners in a film which promotes the original reasoning behind the Second Amendment (the idea that you may have to bear arms against a tyrannical government... on whatever scale)... well, I thought it was pretty sweet, thinking about how it may have chapped their overpaid hides.
There were a couple of folks who'd drunk the "Government can do no wrong" flavored Koolaide, sitting next to us. They left about 3/4 of the way through.
Too bad.

I really enjoyed this movie and didn't know that it was actually based on the book Point of Impact until I visited this thread after i saw it. So this past tuesday I went out and purchased Point of Impact and just finished it last night. I would have to say the book is unbeleivably good, i was hooked and couldn't put it down. It was definilty better than the movie but all books are better than their movie counter parts. I'm hooked...lol

I saw the movie, and although I am not a fan of Glover or Wahlberg, I did like the movie. Solid action, decent enough plot, good looking girl, lots of nice guns, big explosions, better gun realisticness then most movies, and an old gun guy in Tennessee who was really pretty cool, too. All around I'd give it a 7 outta 10. Sure Wahlberg is a terrible person and a felon, and sure Danny Glover is awful too, but its still a pretty good movie, see it for the guns if nothing else.

Read the book while out on business for a couple of days. Not bad, not great - the shooting references were forced at times (as I had suspected from browsing), and the shifts in tone don't work (Bob becomes less a character than a walking cliche at times), but it has its strong points. Can't say it was markedly better than the movie overall. Both are well worth $6 to see/read, but I don't expect anyone will have a life-changing experience.

Heck, I saw it. But it was a freebie ticket so I can't complain. However, 300 is much more entertaining and I paid for my ticket.

Its not ANTI-AMERICAN

i read until post #31...got tired of reading about actors and production and book and what not....i saw the film an hour ago....i found it not to be a HECK of a movie in any sense. the gun play and action scenes are awesome and you can tell they did their research on military knowledge ect.

the political side of the movie was NOT i repeat NOT ANTI AMERICAN...it was PRO AMERICAN but in an attempt to open the viewers eyes as to the way politician are able to corrupt well principled people on the basis of theyre nationalism, the movie actually depicts all american politicians that way. this is not far from the truth..but it is not the case of ONLY American politicians.

the movie, in my opinion WITHOUT reading the book before, tries to inform the public of the atrocities commited by politicians to maximize their benefits, on the back of young TRUE americans that join the army with blind faith and with the always eager intention of dying for their country. the movie tries to show how easily these true heroes are manipulated through the love they have for their country...something i find disgusting

that is MY OPINION

I was actually planning on posting a thread asking what was the brown powder that walberg puts on his wounds...

This is sad to see a bunch of grown men argue like children. If you don't want to go see the movie...don't, it is after all your free time and money. For those that want to see the movie or have gone to see the movie, great. I went to see the movie and I liked it a lot. Sure, there were some Hollywood parts, but it is after all a movie. I think some people on the forums have nothing better to do than to b*&(^ about anything they can. When was the last time anyone on this forum directed a multi-million dollar film?

I saw the movie and I enjoyed it, the movie was a poor take off of book but most movies are. The movie was not anti american but it did show the corruption of our government and be certain this kind of corruption does happen. it was worth te two hours and 5 dollars to see and thats all that needs to be said.just my .02
