Have any of you had any experience with or heard anything about the Lancaster Arms/Consulting AKM-47?

It seems like a nice AK. I like the Saiga as well but don’t want to pay for or go through the hassle of a 922r conversion (triples the cost  ). I was also thinking of the Vector side folder AK but the Lancaster seems nicer and I can add a folding stock later.

So what say you all?

The one I saw was well built with a nice finish. The rifle functioned great as well. No complaints at all. Well worth it in my humble opinion.

PLEASE do not get an underfolder.

Shoulder one, and imagine your cheek while shooting...

I Bought one cause I didn't have one...

I got rid of it.

Just a few months ago I had my First outing with an AK and it was my AKM 1.6 mm Classic, which I believe is the same gun you're looking at but with blonde wood furniture.

As described in the above link, I had some very minor teething problems which were soon gone. Fit and finish are superb, and Atlantic is a great outfit with which to deal. I put about 500 rounds through mine this weekend, and I really like this gun.

atlantic firearms is an overpriced retailer. keep looking for a better deal. you can get the same gun for $100 cheaper. try military gun supply, or some other vendor.

Lancaster only lists three dealers: ARMA RIFLE & CARTRIDGE , BARNES FIREARMS and ATLANTIC FIREARMS, LLC; Atlantic seems to be the only one with an internet presence. That Lancaster AKM doesn't appear to be for sale elsewhere on the 'net except direct from Lancaster for $95 more. I suppose one might try their luck on an auction site like Gunbroker.

Sorry mods wasn'r sure where this post should go.
Thanks all for your replies.
Those of you that fired the Lancaster AKM, how well does it shoot? 1MOA, 2MOA, 10MOA? I havn't found this anywhere else online. If anyone had a link to a cheaper site I'm all ears.

i've been researching AK's for a while now. everything i hear ( i mean read) about lancaster has been good. the vectors are highly spoken of as well, but they no longer come with chrome-lined bores. hope this helps.....m.r.

I have an AK-47T on order. Check with your local dealers - they can order from Lancaster, too. My dealer is a small volume dealer but he orders direct. He saved me about $80 off the Lancaster/Atlantic price.

Be warned though - Lancaster prices are going up. The AK-47T price just went up $80 last week on the Lancaster web site. It will only be a matter of time before Atlantic has to pass that increase along - although so far they're holding with the old price.

I plan to get the Lancaster Polish Underfolder, I've heard they are good quality.

You might want to check - last I heard the Polish UF were down in the single digits for availability. There may not be any left.

Does Lancaster have their own website?
I have been looking at their rifles and drooling too but the only info I can find on them is on Atlantics site.
And when I buy one I would prefer to not have to go through my FFL and another middleman. It just complicates things too much.

I just got a new lancaster a few weeks ago here in colorado. I got a version made my arma rifle and cartridge in Parker, CO. Fit and finish are really nice but I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet. I also got a lifetime warranty with mine :). Paid $430.

my Saiga cost me $305 after transfer

locally I can get the following

Nato stock = $46 + tax
G2 trigger group = $35 + tax
Saw Pistol grip = $22.50 + tax

~ $112 for parts

Then take into consideration time and labor to convert it...

Thanks for the link to Lancaster's site. It was the first contact info I have been able to get for them.
