Aftermarket Grips on a Charter Arms revolver?

I'am having the same problem finding grips
for my Charter arms revolver,there's just
not much to pick from.You might try doing
a search on auction arms and gunbroker
and see what pop's up.

One place to do some looking would be on the tables at a local gunshow. You'd be amazed at some of the stuff that turns up and a lot of it can be had very cheaply.

IMO, one of the best all-around grips for the little Charters is the Pachmayr Compac. Still cataloged, still inexpensive, and both Midway and Brownell's still list 'em.

You could also make some calls to local shops (especially those who've been in business a long time) and see what they might have laying around. Might be a medium-long shot, but ya never know.

I wouldn't hold my breath until Crimson Trace announces a model for your UC. Charter hasn't been much of a player in the market for several years and new molds are extremely costly. While you might be able to modify some existing model, doing so would certainly void your warranty. They'd also cost about half-again as much as you could reasonably expect the revolver to be worth, assuming Excellent condition.

I had a couple of older Charter Arms Undercover revolvers...I liked them They were not the best finished guns on the market, but they served their purpose and went bang everytime I pulled the trigger.
I found that any grip made for the S&W mod. 36, would fit them like a glove. I don't know if that's still the case.

Another vote for the Pachmayr.

I had good luck with Eagle Secret Service Grips. Don't know if they still make them to fit Charter Arms, but they did.

Charter Arms has 5 different grips for their revolvers. I just ordered the small rubber grips for my Bulldog.

I have an old set of grips. Pacmayr, I'm pretty sure. I think they were for the .44. But they fit on my .38 when I had it, they are very big. (thick) Almost comical on my little undercover. Fills the hand nice though.

Another vote here for the Pachmayr Compacs on the .38 Undercover. I have a first generation Charter Undercover, with the exposed rod that the youngest daughter keep strying to sneak away from me when I'm not looking.

I picked up a set for under $10 at a local store in the bargain bin.

I also heard that any Charter Arms grip will fit any Charter Arms revolver, except for the little .22 they sell. e.g. a Bulldog grip fits an Undercover etc.

They will sell you their current version of the Pachmayur grips from the factoiry, if you want. But you'll certainly find it cheaper at a local show or store or online.

FWIW Safari makes a nice Speedloader for it too.

Overall an underrated revolver.
