Crusades aren't going away. We are all well aware of the problem, yet we complacently continue to pay the taxes that finance them. Here's a good reminder:

Man, I thought I was watching Frank Capra's "WWII: Why We Fight" there for a minute.

The solution to Jihad is to give Terrorists F18's and M1 tanks. This will trick them into abandoning asymmetric warfare.

Very noble, but I'm afraid until the human race evolves it's not going to happen. There can be no fellowship with madmen who would destroy anything and everything for their cause...including themselves or even the cause itself.

Asymmetric warfare is partially responsible for our independence. The French Underground used it against the Germans. It is a very viable tactic of a less well equipped/prepared/manned force against a better equipped/prepared/manned force. When done properly, it allows the weaker force to inflict substantially larger numbers of casualties against the larger force.

The British Empire faced this all around the world and eventually took a toll. The US is in much the same position, only they don't know it.

I don't mind financing "crusades". I mind financing them when they're hamstrung by political correctness.

Send our soldiers to win, or don't send them at all.

It sure helped, in support of a larger conventional war. Not just the French, either. Many throughout the short-lived Nazi empire did the same.

We know it quite well. I know we know, and we are doing something about it, too. Enough said about that.

What we don't have are enough political leaders willing to do what it takes to win. We still have the Democrats of Carter, not Kennedy or FDR. We have the Republicans of Nixon, not TR or Reagan.

Do I sound like a raving hawk? You betcha. Fight them now, or fight them later, those are the real choices sometimes. "Peace in our time" doesn't fly with me. If Chamberlain had his way, I wouldn't be here. Thank God Americans were ruthless enough to liberate my parents in the 1940s.

i would add that we are in this position if we follow the course of trying to do too many things at once outside this country before turning our energy inward and start fixing some of the major problems we have inside our country.

but it might take getting our hands dirty and our boots full of mud, and in our culture some are above that manual labor, they want to float around popping off theories like life is just a more complex game of SIMS.

you want to stop jihad? strike at their mode of transmission; the children. now now, i don't mean a bomb strike, i mean a culture cluster bomb like cable tv and the internet. those two things work well enough here in the U.S. get them away from blowing themselves up for GOD, and get them into voting online for their fav. Doesnt the Westboro church represent all of Christianity? I mean if a few terrorists represent the whole of Islam than surely a handful of particular Christians represent the whole of the Christian church. Aren't all Catholics child molesters, well at least the Clergy?

I'm not sure what/who the producer of that web video is...seems like he's been everything from left to right at one time or another. One thing is certain, the man knows his propaganda.

One has to remember that Muslims aren't the only terrorist out there and certainly if you look at the history of humanity you will find that all religions, all races and all countries have commited terrorist-like actions. Look at US history and how the Native Americans and blacks were treated and how their still treated by many, Muslims and Arabs are now being treated that way. Its sad really, the vast majority of Muslims and Arabs are peaceful people who denounce violence and only want to exist like the rest of us. We wage war against an ideology and that just won't work, how many times has history prooved that! Terrorism is a hydra, you cut off one head and more just pop-up in its place. We give reason to these extremist to hate us and then we wonder why they do. Looking at what happened at Va.Tech just goes to show terrorism comes in all forms and doesn't have to be committed by just muslims. If you look at all the violence committed in the name Christianity over the past centuries, its clearly not being religious that is the problem because not all Christians are like that. Its people warping religious ideas to fit their own personal agenda, and people using it as an excuse to commit horrible acts against other people. Its been going on for thousands of years and I imagine it will be with us for many years to come. The only difference between terrorism today and terrorism in ancient times are the methods, the ideology hasn't changed.

On first thought, that was actually a pretty good idea. But then I considered the fact that the Saudis, Iranians, et al all have such weapons, and they still engage in supporting terrorism/asymmetric warfare, because it works better for them than tanks and planes ever would against us.

I imagine that as long as people speak of Jihadists, rather than all Islamics, Derek wouldn't be offended.

I don't know why it's particularly difficult to realize that the majority of Islamics aren't trying to impose Sharia upon other countries...

The Jihadist crowd? Those who seem to believe, "Sharia or death!"? Those are the ones that reasonably can be seen as our enemies.

And in WWII it was a small percentage of the Nazis in Germany that were responsible for the horrors. The rest of the Nazis were ordinary German citizens who allowed the power mad amongst them to attempt to dominate the world. The allies had to fight our way through that mass of average people who just happened to be Nazis to get at the head of the beast.

The same is true for Jihadism. Most muslims are not actually planning to go out and kill a jew or bomb an American embassy. Only a fraction of their populace is willing to engage in active fighting. The rest are merely the support structure that allows the Jihadists to exist and function. Until
mainstream muslim takes an active role in identifying these terrorists and preventing them from killing in the name of Islam than all of Islam is accountable and not to be trusted.

Many a German died merely for being a member of the Nazi party but not a
true fascist. The same scenario may end up applying in this horror story if we are to cut off the head of Jihadism and end it's goal of death for the sake of Islam.

It is not politically correct in this day and age to state the obvious. And the obvious is that while only a fraction of the muslims in this world are actively trying to commit murder most of the rest are the enablers for this lunacy. To ignore that and pretend that they are not our enemies is insanity on the part of the western world. Until Islam is eradicated by us or eliminates it's own diseased offspring that revel in death and destruction it should be considered an enemy. I would really like to see mainstream Islam deal with this issue directly so the west would not have to. To this point in time it appears that Islam will not take responsibility for their violent offspring so the West has no choice. We must do it for them or face our own demise.
