Why are pistol grips evil?

evil? well it is about control,gun control from the antis that is.Eh,flash hider,grip,bayonet lug....lol or whatever excuse they can come up with they'll use.

on the progun side for shooting,you'll see different opinions on how important it is.

For the mindset that considers them so, anything that improves the efficiency of a firearm is evil. Just my opinion, of course.

They allow you to shoot from the hip accurately.

Not only is that statement completely wrong, but even if I could accurately shoot from the hip with a pistol grip, why would I choose that mode of shooting accurately, when shoulder firing is also supposedly accurate too?

'Cause they look evil. It's always those deadly assault rifles with high capacity banana clips that kill innocent children that have pistol grips. They help people fire from the hip and uncontrollably spray bullets into crowds at such places as schools, shopping centers, restaurants, and other safe, gun free zones. If only we could ban these death enabling features as well as any projectile thrower that is combustion powered, countless lives could be saved. Like the lives of murderers, rapists, terrorists, and robbers.

They say that they are used for firing from the hip....which they would argue is only used for randomly shooting, not aimed, controlled fire. Of course they are completely uninformed so that makes about as much sense as all of their other arguments...zero.

Because once they get folks to buy into that fact that pistol grips are evil because they allow spray and pray they can get folks to buy into guns having slightly curved grips built into the stock as just as evil because well they help you spray and pray and once they get those taken out well the manufacturers left are obviously using a loophole to produce straight stocks which goes agains the intent of said bans and can be used to spray and pray. See how that works.

Nope, dull and rusty is just fine for me.

Pistol grips are used extensively on military style weapons because, in conjunction with a straight line stock, they can aid controllabilty in fully automatic fire, as the thrust of recoil isn't positioned above the counterthrust of the shoulder, thereby reducing muzzle climb.

On a semi-auto gun they have less utility, although as many people here have chimed in, they prefer them for ergonomic reasons.

We only shoot our M16s on single. I would prefer a pistol grip than a straight stock.

Mine IS evil. I caught it slipping out at night and drinking the blood of unbaptized babies. Once, it was playing with a Ouiji board along with my Glock and a bolt action.

It rarely practices safe sex, and always promises it will call in the morning. But it never does.

Again, ignoring muzzle climb entirely, some prefer the configuration for other reasons.

Remember, they can't go after "your deer gun" because they'll face massive resistance. So they strike where it's easiest.

And since most people have a mental picture of "your deer gun" and it doesn't have a bajonet, pistol grip, etc, those are the things they go after... first. The rest to follow.

So it's important to make it equally hard for them to ban silencers [2], pistol grips, and 22 single shot bolt guns.

A pistol grip is the antithesis of a straight stock. If your stock ain't straight it must be gay. In short, the Brady Campaign is anti-gay as well. This will be my new argument with the antis and liberals.

Buzzwords.

Find a word that when sensationalized, and used in context to promote an agenda, folks will be hypnotized into believing.

"Rock&Roll is devil music" Preachers were breaking records, in churches, and Black & White TV showed "clean cut and moral folks" breaking records and telling parents Rock & Roll was evil and devil music.

One might be wise as to how they use these words as to not give those against us, ideas.

Now what is the difference in a .223, or .308 fired from a Black Rifle vs a Mini 14 or Wood and Blue Bolt action? The "buzzword" and that is it.

If you see anyone on these forums calling pistol grips, bayonet lugs, grenade launchers, or flash suppressors "evil", they're most likely making fun of 922(r).

If you're asking why other people view them as "evil" it's because they are associated with "evil" assault weapons that though they insist are used widely by criminals, are used very rarely in crimes. Why? Well, they are expensive, unwieldy, and hard to conceal when compared to what criminals usually use; small, cheaply made handguns.
