I Shot a Glock 26 for the first time. I discovered it is MUCH easier to hit with than a J-frame. And I have NO concealment problems with it riding where my Bodyguard is carried.

I ordered one today.

Yea - J Frames are a 10 foot defensive weapon and a good one for it, but oodles lighter (assuming an Airweight or Sc/Ti) that a Glock will ever be.

So long as you are comfortable with it, you'll be better off, but I'm a weight weenie.

Welcome to the Dark Side.

Love that baby Glock! It's scary accurate and fun to shoot -- two things which cannot be said of many firearms in that size class.

:neener: That's me...a died-in-the-wool 1911-nutcase, and I'm in-love with Glock 17s, 19Cs, and 26s. I also like the 30s and 36s. Here I sit with a healthy dose of crow. It's hopeless now. I can't live w/o my tupperware.

Edit to add: By the way, anyone thinking of buying a G26, I strongly suggest the little hand exercisers that are sold in the gun shops. They work great for strengthening the fingers individually.

Right now I am torn bewteen buying a G26, G30 or G36. I've been stuck in this spot for over 2 months. :) I have the 17 an 19C. Which is next? I can't decide. I lean strongly to the G26 for all the reasons listed, and all my present mags fit.

Doc ~

Who says the next gun is your last gun?!?

Get the next gun (the G26, of course).

Then get the one after that ...

I bacame a dedicated Glocker when I was issued one back in 89. I didn't want "That Damned Plastic Sissy Pistol"...but when I scored "Possible", meaning 300/300 on my FIRST qualifier, I was hooked.

I own one of all the Glock models now available, except the G18 (dammit).

Of all those Glocks, my absolute favorite is my little G26. In fact, I own 3 of them, though my wife would say I only own 2, as she has claimed one of mine for her very own.

Yep! I'm a big fan of the 26 as well. I purchased a $1000 Springfield Armory EMP, thinking it would replace my 26 as my primary carry piece.

But as much as I love the Springfield, I cannot seem to part with my 26. It has become an extension!

Another G26 fan

Out of several guns that I bought for "carry". The one that goes everywhere and does everything, (and is the most comfortable for me) it is the Glock 26.

I feel like I can wear it no matter what. Mine has paint spatter on it, is often soaked in sweat and other grime, and it always cleans up fine, and shoots great when needed.

I do however, suggest the pierce grip extension mag floorplate things. Mine are not the extra capacity versions, but I do like getting my pinky finger back on the grip.

You will not regret the G26. Trust me.

ARperson's hubby.

my wife has decided that the 26 is what she wants as well. i finally tlked her into getting her on gun and that is what she wants so that is what i will et her.

You are correct. Furthermore, hot summer weather is here, and my 1911s that I love so much are simply too large to conceal comfortably. Too, I hate to leave them in my truck vault and risk scratching them when I am on campus (grad professor). Their finish is simply are not as-durable-as a Glock's finish. Re: concealment, even my G19C is difficult to conceal compared to a G26. I think you're right...G26 is the next proper purchase.

I got the Glock 26 to go along with the 19. Had some ejector issues, just got it back from Glock and shot it last night. Glad I got the 26. 9mm ammo not as expensive as .38 or .45.

I did not like Glocks the first time I held one.....

but then I shot one, now I have two. I never could hit anything with a J frame......wife can though. I keep it at camp loaded with snake shot......chris3

Now just wait until you try the M&P compact.

I have ... and am less than impressed with 'em.

Hear a lot of good from other folks about them, though, so it must just be me. *shrug*

I love mine.
Occasionally I carry something with a little bigger boom tube and more capacity but the 26 is just so easy and conceals so well it's the one that rides with me most of the time.
Car keys, check
Wallet, check
G26, check
Cell phone, check
Lets go.

I've never shot a Glock, but if they are that addicting,
maybe I shouldn't. I have enough "other brand"
handguns around already. I can't afford to start another
collection. ;)

I love my Glock 26, it's the best small carry weapon I've found in 28 years of daily carry. But I also love my model 38 J frame "Bodyguard". The Glock is just slightly too big and slightly too heavy for all day pocket carry and the J frame is just right. The Bodyguard model has a full shroud and can also be thumb cocked. In SA fire it's almost as accurate as my Glock 26.

Both are excellent, to me the G26 is an IWB gun and the J frame is a pocket gun.
