Ann hits the nail on the head about amnesty

This lady makes too much sense. ;) I know some people really say they hate her but isn't it true that as a columnist if you aren't generating some hate mail you probably aren't doing your job? :)

Ann is awesome. She hurts her causes by overstating them sometimes, but it's hard not to like her. Comparing her to Rosie O Donnell is like comparing chocolate ice cream to poop.

Are you planning on giving us daily updates on Adam's Apple Annie? She does have her very own website where those of you who are her fans may enjoy her writings.
It'd be different if you offered commentary beyond "+1."

She is dead on with this issue, especially the follow.

Why on earth would any rational immigration policy discriminate against immigrants with Ph.D.s in favor of unskilled, non-English-speaking immigrants?

Say, don't Ph.D.s and other skilled workers have more influence on government policy than unskilled workers? Aren't they more likely to bend a president's ear? Yes, I believe they are! Noticeably, the biggest proponents of the government's policy of importing a huge underclass of unskilled workers are not themselves unskilled workers.

Nothing Liberals hate worse than a conservative Ivy league educated female...cute, sassy and tells it like it is. She has never lost a debate with them...none of the low life liberals will take her on becasue she just destroys them with facts, figures and logic...something unheard of by the fat, dumb and unhappy Rosie O's of the world.

Boy, some of you can't take satire

They just don't understand it.

I've said before that if someone posted Jonathan Swifts "Modest Proposal" on THR there would be some members loading rifles to go out looking for the child killing cannibals.

”I have been assured by a very knowing American of my acquaintance in London, that a young healthy child well nursed is at a year old a most delicious, nourishing, and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled ...”

Yum! Pass me the Ann Coulter article and the Ketchup please!

She's the right wing equivalent of Rosie O'Donnell.

Yeah, except that Ann isn't delusional, medicated, and doesn't believe in absurb conspiracy theories.

She hurts her causes by overstating them sometimes, but it's hard not to like her.

No it's not. Half the time I wonder if she's a liberal agent provocateur, hell-bent on making Republicans look foolish.

Just so you know, we've already had our first comments on Ann Coulter's appearance, her Adam's apple, the fact that everyone loves her, and the fact that everyone hates her.

If it gets any sillier, then this Ann Coulter thread will go the way of the last Ann Coulter thread. We're all grownups, so let's discuss the issue like grownups. Maybe somebody could say something about . . . I don't know . . . amnesty for illegal aliens, or something.

I think she's spot-in, and the column she wrote, though primarily directed at her usual target, liberals, is also condemning of those Republicans lending support to the proposed bill.

The pandering going on in Washington to secure the "illegal" is sickening.

I love Ann.

I was a benefactor for a visit she made to Gainesville a couple years ago for our annual Regan day BBQ. I can say that she is incredibly brilliant. She is like Micheal Moore or Rosie only insofar that she is passionate about our side of the issue and is often mean and sarcastic in presenter her views. However, where she differs from them is that she is intelligent enough to use well researched facts and rational logic as her foundation.

I honestly thought the thread was about Coulter, not the issue itself...my mistake.

Her argument regarding the motives of the Dems in this matter is highly disingenuous. The "cheap labor" (imported slaves) argument is the excuse of the right, not the left. The left wants amnesty for purely political reasons; the large and rapidly growing latino population likes amnesty and the Dems want the Latinos voting for them.
The Libertarians dislike the police-state tactics that would be necessary to enforce a crackdown. Coulter makes light of this by suggesting that whoever's counting them or canvassing schools/hospitals should be in charge of deporting them, but we all know it's not that simple. Any enforcement will require door-to-door searches, assumption of guilt until proven innocence, and chucking the 4th amendment out the window.

Yes, I would like to see an end to illegal immigration, but her argument is highly simplistic and (as always) intentionally misleading. I personally don't care if the nation is flooded with illegals looking for jobs (or handouts), but I want the border closed because it's a security breach.

El Tejon,
Yeah. Unfortunately, the media tends to quote her and try to tar the rest of us with her statements. She's really just the polar opposite of Moore...a shrill, dishonest neo-con harpie. Many here seem to like her, and that's all well and good....but she doesn't speak for me.

She's the right wing equivalent of Rosie O'Donnell.
Her talent is preaching to the choir. When I agree with her, her columns are lots of fun to read; when I don't, they're infuriating. In both cases she uses rhetoric and sarcasm, not logic, so she isn't going to persuade anyone of anything.

I think Ann is right that it is very sad the republicans won't do anything about illegal immigration. Don't the republicans understnd that when the illegals are made legal they will probably vote Democrat. Can you say hello 1 party system for a long time.
