thinking about buying a beretta Xtrema2 for clays and hunting...also noticed that the k/o version (kick out) is 300 more than the non k/o version.
opinions on both the gun and the k/o.
I have an extrema2 with the KO option. Its pricey, but worth every last cent. Every shooter whos tried my beretta raves about how nicely it shoots and handles.
Just started my second waterfowl season with my Xtrema II Camo w/KO. Best shotgun I've ever owned. Virtually no noticeable recoil with 3" mag Hevi-shot. Gun has never malfunctioned. I have a virtually brand new Benelli SBE I for sale.......it hasn't been out of my safe since I bought the Beretta.
I've compared the KO version with non-KO at two different stores. I liked the balance and handling of the non-KO model better, although I suppose I'd get used to the extra weight in the butt.
Not that it matters one way or the other; I'm sticking with my soft-shooting SX-2 Waterfowl.
Lower felt recoil. I've shot the SBE II and it didn't seem to have any less felt recoil than my SBE I.....my opinion. They're both great guns.....get the one that fits you best. I also prefer the balance of the Beretta over the Benelli. One other point.......the new Xtrema II is really easy to disassemble for cleaning.
Bought xtrema2 today w/o ko. I do not plan on shooting alot of the big artillery. tried light 1 and 1/8 oz. loads up to 3 inch. Cycled all fine. The three inch still holds a bit of a punch but what do you expect?!
The gun is smooth and well built. Comes with two shims to adjust length of pull. You will love how the recoil pad comes off!
I have a urika 391. It is a soft shooter but the xtrema is softer yet. I highly recommend!
