Tonight's Debate?

I prefer the term "Obama bin Hilladen."

And whether Paul gets the nomination or not is unimportant. He is waking lots of people up with his message of liberty and common sense. Goldwater didn't win, but he influenced and inspired an entire generation of conservatives. People that did not previously consider themselves anything but ordinary non-political people are getting attracted to politics by his rhetoric. If his involvement during primary season shapes public opinion and helps avert a Hiltastrophe, that would be great.

You know the interesting thing about the polls is that a month or two ago Ron Paul was at less than 1%. Now he is at 3%. I know it is not a huge jump but he is distancing him self from the so called 2nd tier canidates.

People are waking up. Ron will continue to gain ground in the "scientific" polls, even though they are suggestive in the wording of their questions usually (to the detriment of anyone other than Rudy McRomney).

A lot of people may ask "Who is Ron Paul?" now, but in my experience, those same people become his supporters when they take the time to find the answer to that question.

This whole debate is a waste of time unless your that keen on who Fred Thompson should pick for his VP. Fred will win the GOP nomination easily.:D

I gues it is probably hopeless but does anyone want to discuss the debate instead of the usual ''Paul Sucks - Thompson Rocks - I know you are but what am I'' drool that normally oozes from the keyboard?

This is what I saw:
- Everyone - Dropping Bush like a bad habit
- Romney - Exposed as hypocrite (again) this time on immigration
- Rudy - Literally G-d (and conservatives) threatening to strike him down over abortion
- Hunter - called out the top three over their total lack of street cred on conservative values
- Paul - Mostly ignored. When he talked which was rare made sense to me
McCain- Took a beating on immigration looked good on defense but it is kind of an empty house
Gilmore- Widely ignored sounded like a conservative
Huckabee- I was starting to wonder if I had wandered into some kind of old timey revival when he was talking.
Tancredo- widely ignored but sounded decent
Thompson- mostly ignored but started to sound even stranger then normal
Brownback - Did not get as much play as I thought he would.

Any thoughts?

lol, want to bet? I will give you 1000 to 1 odds paul does not win the primary.

before this thread gets closed, i want in on this action too.

Sorry I missed it. I won't watch the Communist News Network.

But..... I saw Fred Thompson with Hannity. I am more impressed every day with Fred.

Run Fred Run

I don't think RP stands a chance in Hades. FT will take a lot of RP's votes once he enters "officially". He'll be seen as electable, which RP just isn't. FT is the worse thing that could happen to RP. He's got him beat now, by a long shot, and he hasn't even tried yet.

They may not have mentioned gun rights in the debate, but outside of the debate, Paul is just about the only one who has not created or supported some sort of gun ban and infact has said he would repeal some of the federal gun ban.

I am worried that Fred Thompson is not the conservative he portrays himself as.

He voted for Campaign Finance Reform, the Patriot Act, and the Medicare Reform bill. I don't see how someone who votes for these things can then try to run on a smaller government, fiscal conservative platform.

To me, he is looking more and more like Bush.

People that did not previously consider themselves anything but ordinary non-political people are getting attracted to politics by his rhetoric.
Yup, that's me. I hated politics, until I saw Ron Paul. Only politician I've EVER seen that I actually believe would do as they say. I'm not a conservative or a liberal, because I think that political parties put boundaries on what people believe, and I think we should all think for ourselves (I know, what a weird concept for sheep). Ron Paul is the ONLY guy up there, including Fred Thompson, that I have confidence will do what they say. Plus, I can't bring myself to vote for someone who supported the Patriot Act.

If you don't vote, DON'T BI&CH!!!!
If you vote for somebody you KNOW is going to do you great harm, don't complain when they do.

I will NEVER, EVER, vote for Giuliani, NO MATTER WHAT. And gun control is only the FOURTH most important reason. The three reasons ahead of it are:

1. Louima
2. Diallo
3. Dorismond

Watch the ninnies who tell everybody they HAVE to vote for Giuliani, whine when he allows the BATFE to run amok the way he allowed the NYPD to run amok.

And if Giuliani doesn't think that the 2nd Amendment applies in NYC, what OTHER Amendments does he think are null and void in the Big Horseapple?

The 1st?
The 4th?
The 13th?

If you WANT Putin, VOTE Putin. Don't substitute Giuliani.
