A friend traded into a 1911 National Match barrel and bushing. The hood of the barrel is marked:

.45 Auto
NM 7790313
1316011

The bluing of the barrel is 95% and the rifling is excellent.

The bushing is marked:

7267718
It has a N on one side and a M on the other
Someone stenciled 6011 on it – same as last four above

Bluing is 97% on the bushing. He wants to sell- any idea what they should go for?

Thanks in advance,
David

Have these been in a gun before? If not they might be worth something. If they have been fitted find a sucker on eBay, that will bring as much money as is possible for them. I would guess that someone that knows what is what wouldn't go much over about $40 for the barrel and bushing if it has been fitted and only then if the bushing is tight on the barrel. To re-fit the barrel to a performance level above normal the hood and lugs will need to be welded up and recut to hard fit the barrel to the gun it will be used in.

Yup.
The 7------ is a blueprint number for NM barrel and bushing, it is not supposed to match. I fear the ---6011 is the serial number of the gun they came out of. Dollar value is not high.

I know a guy who has trouble making up his mind. He ran one barrel through about three different guns. He was lucky, each gun was a little tighter than the one before and the barrel could be refitted to each in turn. He would be out of luck if he wanted to put it back in #1, though.
