When's the last time you counted?

Your guns, that is. Do you know how many you have packed into that safe? I'm moving today, and had to pack up all the guns last night (so the movers could take the safe today). Imagine my surprise to discover that I had 34 firearms on hand -- 15 handguns and 19 long guns. I had no idea that I had that many until I had to find boxes or cases for all of 'em. The lack of balance is bothering me. I have a 16th handgun on its way, but I guess I need to sell off three long guns or buy three more handguns to keep things equal. Guess which one I'm gonna choose? :evil:

I don't need to look. I know my entire collection and can visualize every firearm in my head.

I probably could, too, if I sat down and thought about it. I just don't know that I ever added them all up before. It doesn't seem like that long ago that my entire collection consisted of a Ruger 77/22 (gift from dad on my 16th birthday), a Glock 26 and a Remington 870 express. Over the last 10 years, I've added one here, another there, etc., and never stopped to actually count them all.

It was a pleasant surprise....

I don't have a gun safe, I need one. I keep my handguns (except for the nightstand guns) in a locked box, so I know how many are there. I have several long rifles scattered in the house in various places. Every once and awhile I think I have my Ruger 10/22 in a closet, it is not there, and I have a full-scale panic attack. Until I find out it is under the bed with a few other rifles. (we don't have kids)

12 pistols 8 rifles. I am thankful I don't have many more.

Then you either have a tremendous memory or need more guns.

I just moved, 11 hanguns that now have to be registered. Long guns don't need to be registered in MI. Guess I need a rifle, or shotty.

), but I really don't know what the total is. It has been many years since I counted them. This way, if I misplace a few here and there, it doesn't matter as much.

Three total, two .22 rifles and a .22 single-action revolver. I only personally own one of the rifles, the other rifle is my brothers and the revolver my Dads.

I moved last month and I know exactly what you are saying. Seem like I found 2 or 3 in the back I had forgotten about...plus 3 more shotguns in a case under the bed that I swore I had not seen in years...not too mention 11 cases of shotgun shells and over 4k of handgun ammo.

I ended up calling the insurance company to up my coverage
