I've lived around the San Bernardino area for a long time. It's had it's ups &
downs. Since the L.A. area cops had chased a lot of the bad guys out and
with rent being what it is, San Berdoo is a sheep in the middle of a wolf pack.

They've moved out here, and have caused all sorts of probs including increased
murders, drugs,etc. Have gotten pretty bad so now the Feds have come. The
new Mayor is getting all sorts of heat in regards to crime out here. So to make
things pretty easy, he's blaming weapons for the trouble. No mention of gangs,
or the massive turnout of convicts, sex offenders, etc out into the largest
county in the U.S. I feel it's a bogus charge blaming weapons for Berdoo's
problems, but it's easy to speak ill of something that isn't even animate..
Anyway ck it out. Not a long pc..

Choosing from a table of weapons that had been seized by police, Morris lifted a .22-caliber handgun and tucked it into his waistband -- as a gang banger would, he said. He said 42 of the 46 slayings that police classified as murders in 2006 were committed with guns.

" These guns are the cancer of America's urban society," Morris said.

Morris is lucky he didn't geld himself. He didn't even check to see if the weapon
was loaded. Boy I just don't know.
 
YES! It cuts into the Dems core constituents.....Heaven forbid Pelosi and Feinstein are unable to garner the Gangter Vote to secure re-election.
 
Guns don't feel humiliation and shame when blamed for societal ills

Not the same can be said for those criminals at the root of the problem. Until we can convince politicians that guns have feelings this will be easy camera time for them to push their agendas and campaigns.

Yep, I'm sure gangbangers are lined up in crowded urban voting precincts every election day because they know the importance of exercising their civic duties.

How about the whole problem created by Prohibition?

Nobody denies that alcohol Prohibition caused a tremendous amount of criminal violence among the gangs who smuggled and sold liquor. How and why are drugs any different? No matter what you think of drugs, it's pretty clear that banning them has made for a profitable and violent black market.

When was the last time someone was shot over cigarettes?

Personally, I don't want any drugs. But I don't need my rights infringed (gun and other rights) and the creation and support of a violent underground culture, just so I can tell YOU you can't have them (and you can get them anyway).

Then what about the scum themselves? Whatever I think of the "War on Drugs", I also think that those who are involved in production, smuggling and distribution are scum, sometimes dangerous scum. I mean that objectively: they are the 1% of the population who are scum and always have existed in every society. Drugs just provide an income for them.

Finally, if one gangbanger shoots another, who gives a rat's ass? Let them all shoot each other for all I care. Then we can gas the last one left, or lethal injection, or whatever. Doesn't bother me when they get shot.
 
Isn't it strange that the most corrupt politicians are always the ones to blame their troubles on guns? When I hear a mayor make statements like that, I always wonder who is paying him and his police to not do anything about crime.

gun ownership would be a cancer to the kind of society he wants: where individual civil rights do not exsist and all of the power is held by the state.

We're not there yet, and I hope we never get there either.

I have two thoughts on his demonstration. First, he has already been gelded, he is a liberal Metrosexual.

Second, and more disturbing, he showed very little political correctness when he demonstrated Mexican carry. The horror. Where is Mecha? Where is LaRaza? He dishonored our Latino friends...

Thus proving that he knows absolutely nothing about guns, and that his opinions about them have no credibility.

2/3 of the gangbangers are felons and can't vote anyway and the rest of em have other things to worry about then who to vote for..................
