a savage 111 30 06. it was the package deal with the cheap simmons scope. i am planning on putting a leupold on it later on.

All these cheap-o Simmons scopes ya'll like to bash... are they 3-9x32 or 3-9x40? If they're the ones like WallyWorld carries separately, I've had good results with them.

Bought a Steyr SSG 69 with two 10 round and 1 five round mag, Leupold 4.5X14X40 scope with Steyr QD rings, also came with a bunch of 7.62 ammo

Little box from Brownells arrived today... headspace on my K98 checks out just fine. Time to start stripping / cleaning / rehabbing my old WWII relic.

Just a brief plug for Brownells for you collectors and do-it-yourselfers:

My C&R "dealer" discount saved me $17 and change on a pair of gauges from Brownells (about $17 apiece vs. $25 and change for someone off the street). Don't have to do that too many times (like, twice) to recoup the $30 cost of the C&R... notwithstanding the benefits of having goodies shipped to your door w/o paying dealer transfer fees.

I've saved at least 10x the cost of my C&R just on Brownells orders alone, and that's just in the 4 months I've had it. Even if you're not a collector, the license is well worth it.

Of course, having guns shipped right to my house is pretty nice too.

This past Saturday I put a down payment on an order for a CZ452 Ultra Lux, my 8th CZ rimfire rifle (including the one I got for my dad). Hopefully it'll get here before the weekend for me to try out and possibly replace my 452 Training Rifle for O-Class at the CMP games at Camp Perry (if it isn't over 7.5 lbs) on the 22nd. Ordered an Automation Solutions adjustable sear for it yesterday from Brownells.

Check it out, I pick up the rifle yesterday evening after work. The NICS transaction code for my approval was ****-CZ1!

Something was wrong with the sear, however, as it would not release the striker all of the time after fully cycling the bolt. It worked every time the bolt was lifted then quickly dropped to cock the striker but not all of the time whenever the bolt was pulled back. Examining the sear and striker interface when disassembled didn't show anything out of the ordinary. But, no big deal at the end as I replaced it with the AS sear about 1 hour after I got the gun (which has worked every time).

Bought = 1000 rounds SW .40
Ordered = SIG P226 Elite SW .40
Taught = Advanced my Canadian co-worker (gal) from .22 to 9mm

the postage was a bitch. (i sure hope the cut air holes in the box!)

Yesterday I placed a bid on GunBroker.com on a CZ 40 B, and twenty minutes later I was notified that i had won the auction with a bid of $220. The pperwork is on its way to the seller in Pennsylvania, and I should have it in my hot little hands next weekend (I hope, I hope).

With a gun show this weekend, I now have a shopping list to fill out, AZoom dummy rounds in .40 S&W, boresnake in .40 S&W, FMJ ammunition, extra mags for the new pistol, holster (I understand a SIG P220/P226 fits). Have to admit, it is cheaper than chasing women. Especially if you catch and release.

Somebody stop me before I bid again!

just bought myself a cz 527 american in .221 fireball with a nicely figured stock. can't wait till i pick it up tuesday or wednesday.

Another browning buckmark and 6 50 cal ammo cans.

Just picked up an Arsenal SLR-95 and 200 rounds of 7.62 Commie. Gonna have some fun Sunday.
