It was dancing.
Come on :D

OT question:

Does anyone have a muzzle facing/squaring tool they'd be prepared to lend/rent to me? Ideally, you'd have a 7.62 pilot already, but if it's something akin to the Brownells model with swappable pilot rods I'm prepared to pick up my own.

If you do, can you drop me en email/PM!

Hunter@m1911, yes it is SSI.
It was a perfect day to take my Dad-in-Law shooting.

I wonder how many SSI folks are here on THR ?

I shoot there about every other Sunday. Usually the 100 yard line then pistol range.
I started as my dad's guest when I was about 16 or so and been there every since.

Amazing, how 250 people can re-form within a Forum. Such as it is.
I usually visit on Saturdays before noon, or Sundays with my better half.

I'm looking forward to getting something together, after the humidity.

I'm an SSI folk, too. We should all get together for some weekend plinking and some lunch afterwards!

It's my wife's home range- all those pine trees that were planted around the range and on the berms are her babies. Just ask her 8^).

Unfortunately we don't get there very often, it's a pretty hefty drive from down here in lower, slower SE NC. But if y'all work up a get-together, we'll try to be there. It would be nice to see some more THR folk in their natural environment.

If you think I'm going to sit on a couch in my underwear with an Xbox controller in my hand when there's shooting afoot, you're in for disappointment :)

Randy Young of Young Gun's in Apex is the man to call about membership to SSI. I believe there is a waiting list because there is a cap on the number of members.
Give him a call and see though.
Would yall like to plan a Saturday or Sunday meet at SSI coming up soon? Members can bring a guest so even non members could come. We could meet at Hardees in Rolesville for breakfast or somewhere better.
Count me in for 1. Anyone else?

Spoke to Randy at Young Guns... no new members until February 2008...:( Somebody want a friend?

Hunter - count me in for an SSI shoot if you can find someone to adopt me. I'd love to meet everyone and see the venue.

So let's look at two plans. The first get together is for August 11th at PDHSC at 10:00 am. Everyone is invited and all are welcome. The second is for a get together at SSI. Any dates in mind y'all?

All of the non-SSI folk can go with only 1 member. There's an honor system where each non-member pays $5 for the day... and the $ are mailed to SSI and used for upkeep/insurance.

Not a bad deal, and yes I need some new friends anyway :D

I was thinking about joining you, but if it's THAT kind of get-together then I'm not so sure... 8^)

KMK, I'll discuss the PDHSC gathering with the good doctor and see if she's up for the trip. It would be nice to meet some of the Triangle area THR folks. If it works out we might make a trip from Raleigh up to SSI on the 12th as well, she wants to shoot the PLR-16 some more. Stay tuned...
