I am looking into getting for HD & Truck Gun either the Kel-tec PLR 16 or the S.A. XD Tactical.

Of the the two which would you think would make a better choice???

The only thing that concerns me about the PLR is the muzzle blast/burst of light and over penatration factor.

Please list your reasons why you would chose the way you think.

For vehicle use, I prefer handguns, for home use, I prefer my 12 ga shotgun. In your case, I guess I'd go w/ the handgun

Handgun, although I know a fella here that keeps an old folding stock AK with 10 loaded 30 rd mags in his truck. I have told him I have first dibs if he ever sells. :D

I traded my XD-40 to a man who wanted that for a "truck gun" and got instead a lovely BHP which certainly does NOT live in our truck :D The XD's are so reliable, it would work real well for that. (And for HD too, of course).

I like the S&W Sigma for this, cheap enough to not cry too hard when it gets stolen from your truck. The .40S&W should have adequate penetration.

I'd choose the SA XD tactical on my hip. Not left by itself in the truck for theft. Why would you leave a handgun in a vehicle?

A cheap shotgun with a trigger lock or a cheap commie rifle with the bolt removed and placed in a locked compartment or ammo case is a good truck gun. Still pretty easy to remove and stow when not in said truck for long periods of time.
