Was just looking at a Glock 36. Nice little gun. It is a single column 45 acp. Does anyone out there have any experience with this? My buddy says his shoots high.
Thinking of buying one for ccw.

Hi,
I bought one a few months ago. After the 1st couple of outtings, I had some FTE, FTE's. About two or three per 50.:cuss:
I sent it back to Glock for repair and It's been good ever since.:D
I find it to be very accurate, light, and reliable.
I do think it's a stagered stack after looking at the Mag.
I like the looks of my other guns better, but it is a Glock. Reliable, easy to maintain, and accurate.
It's keeper for sure.
I also like my 27 sub-compact in .40 and 357 sig. They weigh the same as the 36.

Happy with mine. One thing I have noticed - I was having trouble with the slide not locking back on the last round. I found when a really concentrate on a firm grip with locked arm it is less likely to happen. So I suspect it is limp wristing effect to a certain extent, but I do not have trouble with ejection or jams at all.

As far as shooting high - I don't have a problem with mine. In fact, I shoot better with it then I do with my Sig. I shoot low with the Sig though. So I suspect it may be different for different people. Probably different grip angles. Because of this I am looking at getting another Glock, maybe a 21sf.

I had one for a short while. It was 100% reliable and acceptably accurate but, I just could not get use to my pinky hanging off the grip and how that affected my shooting it. Sold it & ended up replacing it w/ my DW CBOB

The first G36 I had a few years ago, broke its recoil spring assembly while firing during its first 100 rounds. I ended up trading it to someone who was willing to have it fixed and use it. It took me years to regain my trust in Glocks with double recoil springs, but I recently bought another G36. This one has been perfect so far and shoots to point of aim for me. It's actually very accurate and makes a great CCW piece.

3,000 rounds through mine. I had some bobbles early on--probably limpwristing or shooter fatigue--but very reliable since. It's accurate enough close-on and the recoil isn't, for me anyway, a problem. I would trust it, definitely, as a carry pistol if I could carry one where I live.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like a very well liked pistol. I am a die hard 1911 fan. I have a couple on hand in 45 acp. But I really like the size of the G36, and the slimmer grip. The mini Glocks are so wide, then I found the G36. Seems like a good little ccw.

By the way, what bullet weight do you guys shoot. The one that shoots high only shoots 230 grain ball. I told him that swithching to lighter bullets would most probably bring his point of impact down, but we'll see.

I think I will definitely take another look at the G36 along side some others, but am kinda leaning towards the Glock.

How about cast bullets in your Glocks? Have heard different things. I have had no problem with my G21. What have you experienced?

About the G21sf. How much slimmer is it than the regular G21?

I've been using 185 gr or 230 gr Golden Sabers in my G36 for CCW. It seems to shoot fine with any ammo I've tried.

I use the 200gr Speer Gold Dot +P. I figured with the shorter barrel the 200 gr would have a better chance to get up to speed. Well I recently got a chronograph and clocked that load at 960 fps. :D

I am in the market for one and recently checked them out. The salesman even put them side by side. Hard to see the difference. He showed me the backstrap seems to be trimed in the back (your plam would be closer to the the trigger). Did not seem to have a lot of difference in feel either. But I think I will get the 21sf
