Maybe this is just my personality talking, but how about something goofy? In this context guns are like cars: you can't make everybody think your customizations are hardcore and cool, but you can always make them think they're amusing. I suggest a completely non-gun-related non-sequiter that will leave everyone who sees it shaking their head and laughing about it later. Something like "Mr. Cheese is unknowable."

don't ruin your gun with a stupid quote

A cop buddy of mine had "Dealer of Death" engraved on his duty weapon slide. The Police Chief freaked and made him quit carrying it. Said it would be a liability nightmare if he was involved in a shooting. I think he had a point. Chuck.
