How do you like the 97B? It looks somewhat great.
Well, it's
somewhat large and
somewhat heavy, even for a 45, but it is definitely more than
somewhat accurate.
This was my first 45 and I had
somewhat of a difficult time coming up with a handload recipe that would feed
somewhat reliably in it, until I
somewhat serendipitously stumbled upon the solution while experimenting with different loads: the 97B has
somewhat of a preference for cartridges loaded on the long side, i.e.,
somewhat closer to 1.270".
The 97B is now
somewhat of a tack-driver that feeds my handloads reliably. Shooting it is
somewhat of a joy as, aside from its accuracy, recoil is
somewhat of a non-issue due to the gun's heft.
In addition, a "fluff and buff" trigger job and mainspring replacement has yielded a
somewhat lighter and smoother trigger pull.
