Picked up a Kadet Kit earlier this week just for the heck of it...the only problem was that I then had to buy a CZ to fit it! :D

After doing a ton of reading on the 75B, P-01, and SP-01 I plopped down the cash for a P-01 tonight. With any luck it will be here by the end of the week. I guess the ergos and size of the P-01 were what got me, as I'm very comfortable with my Glock 19. That, and the fact that I wasn't able to find a 75B in .40 or an SP-01 tactical. My dealer had the 75B in his catalog for ~$400 but couldn't get the stainless, which I'd like to hold out for.

I've been eyeing the P-01 for months and can't wait to get my first CZ! From what I've read, it won't be my last...

Very few complaints and lots of praises on the P-01. The only downside is out of the box the trigger and the decocker are usually gritty. How to fix it?....get some A-zoom snap caps and dry fire the heck out of it and then go to the range and shoot it a bunch. My P-01's decocker and trigger pull are as smooth as glass now.

One piece of advice, always use snap caps in your P-01 when you dry fire it. I've read of some problems with ppl who have never used them and over time they have had some firing pin problems.

My P-01 came with snap caps in the box, so you might not need to get extra.

And yes, they will addict you to the CZ product line. I'm currently trying to figure out how to get my hands on a SP-01 to be a "house gun," but it will probably be a while before I can justify the cash outlay.

Yeah, the mag capacity on the SP-01 is great and from what I've read they are very, very accurate shooters. I would like to get an SP-01 also but for me it would be a range gun for high capacity & accuracy rather than serving duty as a house gun. I'd rather have a .45 for that. 97B anyone? :D

Welcome to the world of CZs:)

P-01s are excellent,

as are the 75B Stainless guns.

The 97B is also excellent and would do home defense duty just fine.

Plenty of pics at the CZ-ZONE.

Buyer beware warning about the 97b......it has two flaws. Out of the box the feed ramp will not feed hollow point ammunition reliably 99% of the time. You need to either send it to CZ for a ramp job, have a gun smith do it, or if you know what you are doing with a Dremel do it yourself. Second, the magazine catch isn't all that robust. Magazines popping out of the grip during a shooting session is a common complaint with the 97b. I believe there are a few CZ armorers that can add a little metal to the magazine catch to help it. Lastly, the grip is bulky and the double action trigger pull is a good reach. If you don't have pretty large hands I don't recommend the 97b.

On the good side, the 97b is insanely accurate and it's one of those guns that you just can't put down. You'll catch yourself fondling it often, and if you don't mind having some work done on it and you have large hands you'll love it. I heard that CZ plans to offer a decocker version of the 97b in 2008.

Enjoy the new CZ. You made a great decision. P-01s are awesome. My buddy picked up an OD green one at a gunshow. I have the SP-01 and it is the most accurate and reliable gun I have ever shot. I will be getting the P-01 in the next few months.

I appreciate the comments; you guys are definitely making me feel good about the purchase. Not that I didn't before, but if I had any buyer's remorse it would be gone by now for sure!

armoredman, I've actually already joined czforum. That's where I found the Kadet Kit, in fact.

I can't wait to go to the range and start breaking her in. Never shot a CZ but I'm positive I won't be disappointed. As far as cleaning & lubing, do CZ guns like to be run wet like SIGs, dry like Glocks, or somewhere in between?

How much are those Kadet kits going for? Do they really work reliably?

I love shooting 22LR, but I suppose I would have to buy a CZ75 to go with the Kadet. That is, unless the Kadet will fit on my CZ97b?

The Kadet won't fit the 97B from what I've read. Just the 75/85 series, including the newer P-01 and SP-01. Maybe the P-06 as well, but we'll have to wait and see.

The Kadet Kit sells for +/-$300, and apparently they do work reliably, else I would have just gone with a separate .22 auto. But I liked the fact that the Kadet would allow me to have two guns in one, and practice using the same size/weight gun that will shoot a higher caliber also.

Considering the difference in ammo cost, the kit should pay for itself rather quickly, depending on how much I use it.
