Anybody choose a Glock 36 for CCW?

The price is good in comparison to what i've seen.

Sounds alright to me. I carry a G36 and love it.

Not yet but like you I'm in the checking it out stage. Actually just today I was checking the price and size comparison against my Colt Pocket Nine. Best price I've found new O/D Glock 36 is $570 at my local store (special order)10 day delivery time. I usually carry the P9 Colt front right pant pocket in a leather pocket holster. I'm not sure the G36 will work as the P9 is a pocket full in 5-11 tac. pants and shorts and the G36 is 1"longer and .5" taller. May have to go back to IWB and tucked shirt.

I wasn't happy with mine, and apparently I'm not alone. The one I bought (new, early 2007 manufacture) suffered from chronic failure to eject issues.

I sold it about a month ago, purchased a S&W 340PD, and haven't looked back.

I got mine used and like it. The first owner did have the frame replaced under factory update. The only eject issue mine had was the last case came back low and could hit me.
So here is what I did (because I really liked all the features and size etc.- I stuck with it.)
I replaced the extractor parts and found that the newer G36 uses a modified floor plate in the mag. I got a few of these. They have an indent in the follower that allows the follower to come up higher under the last round. (as many autos have)
No more problems at all!
The original followers have no indent for the slide lock tab area. Glock has both, so be very specific when ordering if you want the new type as they seemed to be in the same bin!
I am keeping it as long as I have .45 autos.-- Very accurate too

You will notice some part issues in a few of the comments in this thread. Use proper G36 parts, many are different from other .45 Glocks. Use a good parts dealer that keeps up on updates and proper material books from Glock!

The one on the right contains "Marine coffee".
The one on the left was destined to find it's way into the dishwasher.

As touching the G36, mine was made in October of 2000. I have had it since early 2001. With the unfortunate exception of when I foolishly tried to install the extended slide lock (don't do it, it does not work), the gun has been stellar. I did find out, early on, that it did not "like" wide mouthed Corbon bullets. But that was of little concequence because it feeds everything else!!

I've got a late Nov 06 model and carry it daily.

For concealed carry, the Glock 36 is hard to beat...

do you get a mag pinch when shooting it?

I had a Glock 36 when they first came out. I really liked it and think it's an ideal .45 Auto. Mine was accurate and I never had any performance problems with it. It also fit my hand very well.

The only thing I don't like about Glocks is the trigger system. I traded the 36 for a Colt 5" Government Model on my 45th birthday just because I wanted one! These days. I have gone with the 9mm, an Ex-law enforcement SIG P-226 that I'm very happy with. I was kinda hesitant to go with a "nine" after shooting 45s most of the time, but I figure it's mostly a matter of bullet placement and I tend to shoot the 9mm slightly better than .45 most of the time.
