Do we have a Hi-Power Club?

Well sadly I had to part with my Argentine today so I am down to only the FEG PJK-9HP It's a tough choice but I had an emergency and rent had to be paid. Hopefully there will be better times to come.

How do I Jion

I just bought my first Hi-Power over the weekend. It feels really nice and I am starting to fall in love with it. At first I hated the looks, but after much handling I like the shape now. Anyway, I've gotten some great links to information on Hi-Power and do not belong to any club and so I am thinking I'd like to jion this one. What's it about and how do I sign up. lol

I never really thought much of the Hi Power until about a month ago when I shot a buddies. The next day I was in my local gunstore and there was one in very good condition in the used gun display. I took it to their indoor range and put a full magazine of 147gr. JHP's through it and pulled out the plastic. I have made some changes to make it more to my liking. I replaced the trigger, hammer, sear, hammer spring and thumb safety with parts from Cylinder & Slide. C&S also had a nice set of wood grips that I bought as well. It is extremely accurate and a fun gun to shoot. It is a 1977 model per the S/N.

Now if I were going to carry a BHP.....the Detective would be my gun. That is one sharp looking pistol.

I've seen some in this thread, how do you guys like the Hogue wraparound grips? I want to get either those or the "Pachmayr Signature Grips".

The pistol feels a little small in my hands, so I'd be interested to know how they compare to the original ones in size.

I'm all in! I chose a BHP as the basis to build my "Favorite Custom Combat Handgun". It's began as a deep-blue .40 S&W Mk.III and now features; professionally installed C&S forged hammer/sear, 1911-style ambi safety, reduced-effort transfer bar, target trigger, Pachmyer extended slide release, Navidrex (slim) checkered Micarta grips, and a custom-build KKM .357 Sig conversion barrel by Kevin McIntyre. Whew...what a shooter!
Only thing left to do is install MMC adjustable night-sights & maybe a stipple job on the front/rear straps.

Please add me to the roll.
Got my MKIII a few months ago. It is now competing with the CZ75 to see who I shoot the best. So far, the HP has the better grip, safety and sights.

I have jonsed for one of these for years!

I love the look and feel of the wood grips. But the frame is a bit too small for my hand. So i throw on some of the rubber grips. They fit great on the frame and also make the grip a tad bigger which made it feel better in my hand. I will post a pic later

Usually when I put Pachmayrs on my 1911's, I cut the center portion off of them as they feel too thick and bulky for my hand. But with my HP, I decided to leave it on; it actually felt better having them completely enclose the entire grip. Try it; I think you'll like it.

Club me please!!

Just picked up my first HP today, a 1994 Browning. It has full wrap Pachmayrs that will have to go - sorry bannockburn;) - and I'll be ditching the ambi safety too.

This thing is beautiful!

Took a couple photos of my NTM (new to me) 1994 BHP. It came with one 13-round magazine and Pachmayr Signature Model grips.

I ran 45 rounds of 115gr FMJ reloads from Kings Gun Works and 15 rounds of Speer 124gr(+P) GDHP through the BHP today with nary a hiccup.

Felt recoil was minimal and I can happily report that the Browning Hi-Power indeed points to aim like an extension of my arm!

I will be changing out the Pachmayr grips for Uncle Mike's black checkered rubber grips A.S.A.P. While the Pachmayr's are an excellent product, I personally do not like full coverage grips and they do not fit my hand.

I will also be adding a couple of 13 or 10-round magazines to the BHP's arsenal. I purchased this gun with the intent of carrying it concealed wherever legal and for my personal circumstances weight is a legitimate issue.

Well, add me to the list of BHP owners. I carry a Bersa 380 when I cant carry my BHP but I tell you that it shoots as well as my Bersa 380. I just love it!!
