I see it! Nevermind. Pretty Awesome setup. Its at 67:48 if your watching it online.

Just watched the episode online after reading this thread. Very cool. Tom Selleck is one of my all-time favorite actors, and makes a heck of a cowboy no matter what the time period.

We should all take a moment to send a positive email to NBC and support this.

NBC TAKE NOTE: I'll be sure to watch this show every Friday because of Selleck and his pro gun stance!

One more Jesse Stone (at least).

Before Tom Selleck agreed to do Las Vegas, he got an agreement to continue the Jesse Stone movie series for CBS.

I don't give a hoot about the other characters in Las Vegas, but I sure do like Tom Selleck's character. Hope this doesn't mean no more Jesse Stone TV movies and the questions about his carry .45 in them.

Last nights episode showcased the 1911 again. A detective who was at the casino asked Tom Selleck if he had a permit for that gun. He paused for a moment and then said, "yes I do". The detective never asked to see the permit.

I have to think that Tom has some input into the script!

In the trailer for next week's show they announced that "Magnum's" buddies Rick and TC will be guest stars. Now, if only Higgins would make a cameo appearance!

I wish the Magnum PI movie (theater) would get the go-ahead w/ Selleck returning to the lead role. Is there anything to be read into with Selleck and Drew Carey getting regular jobs again in the entertainment industry; both being pro-2A?

Tom's character was carrying openly in Nevada when the detective asked about a permit.

I was hoping the response would be: "Don't need one."

About "TC" and "Rick", Tom Selleck has been a very generous actor. I heard he bought the main cast members Porsche 911's toward the end of the Magnum PI series.

When I was younger and single, I was at a night club off La Cienega in Beverly Hills. Roger Mosley (TC) was there. He was quite approachable.

I'll be watching the next episode.

It's good to see one of "our own" with a steady job in Hollywood! I do hope he has some input into the scripts. When he walked around his office...and THERE IT WAS - WOW! The look on everyone's faces = priceless.

In the last week episode they made a remark about Khe Sanh. That's what we need - actors playing MARINES - two of them on one show - playing combat vets - and they're the GOOD GUYS!

SEMPER FI. :D

Tom Selleck replaced James Caan
great show and all due respect to Tom but he'll never replace James Caan in that role, Caan played it as one cool bad a$$ sob

Another sighting if the 1911A1 tonight. He kept it locked with his coin collection.

Funny, Selleck's character plotted to get that coin for his collection.

Steps:

1) Spook her "whale".
2) Give her a seat in the game as "consolation" for the lost whale.
3) Feed her a fake "tell".
4) Reel her in by deploying the fake tell on a good hand.

Wonder if he took on more than he realized?

I'm considering the possibility "Sam" comes back with a game that nets her his entire coin collection. He will fall in love with her for being someone he can finally respect.

Las Vegas is #2 on our Tivo's list behind 24. With Quigley on board, a good show just got better.

In my opinion, Caan didn't play the cool bad a$$ S.O.B. very well. It seemed like he was trying too hard. It seemed that he would threaten physical violence too often and not follow through, or just whack people once he had them under control etc etc. I am much more inclined to view someone as a badass who can remain totally calm and collected, and explode into action when necessary.

Kind of like a guy in a fancy looking fresh from the dealership sports car that is all flash and no engine getting blown away at the dragstrip by a sleeper.

When I lived in Vegas in the late 90s, Clark County residents needed a pistol permit that was entirely separate from the CCW permit. I don't remember its exact name, but they were little blue-colored cards.

Back then there was a lot of open BLM land surrounding Vegas that anyone could go shoot on. Many times the Clark County Sherrifs Deputies would drive through, see me shooting, and stop to check my permits. They generally also stayed and shot a little with me, which I thought was very cool.

So, unless things have chenged, he does need a permit to open carry if he's in "Las Vegas" or Clark County.

Caan seemed like he was getting so old and broken down he could barely walk, let alone beat the crap out of someone (I'm sure he could still take me down though!). Selleck seems like a very good choice the fill the role. The 1911 is icing on the cake! (the cake is a lie! for all you gamers out there).

Carry in first episode, when calling meeting

Coin collection album, holster, 1911, mags in keypad safe

And, as Tom Gresham predicted in post #12, it can be seen to be a Gunsite gun, as the Raven is visible at the back of the slide in the holster picture.

Gad the 1911 is a beauty no matter where it is. I wonder if Tom attanded gunsite? I;ll have to ask Ed Stock the next time I see him. This show is great for gun owners, partially because it shows one of the so-called empowered people carrying. That by itself will give several of my 'rich' friends the idea that they can be responsible for their own safety. We all win as that catches on.

I must admit I was suprised to see his carry gun in the safe...unless he has a pair, one for fancy carry and one for regular carry. Guns don't do much good in safes.

Also, they were talking about his 1905 colt belonging to someone famous who I don't recall right now, THAT is what I expected to see in the safe, or displayed on the wall as tehy walked by, there should have been some reason his buddies were telling sam about it, rather than just out of the blue.

She was $40,000 short and plopped a $120,000 coin down to cover it. She should have said 'see you, and raise you $80,000' and then Cooper (Tom's character) could have placed his 1905 on the table, or she should have pointed out the $120G coin > $40G bet, and suggested 'or you can antie up that something something gun these guys were drooling over earlier'

This gives the Cooper character some great building moments, he can put a flashy gun on the table, which adds to his character in one direction, or he can say "I don't gamble guns" or "I don't know if you can legally own a gun missy" and then slide a big pile of chips over and say '$120G you said,' and then slide over a pile of chips 'That should about do it.'

Clark County, Nevada does have a handgun registration system. Often called the "blue card" from the color of the registration card.

So, the LEO could have been asking about that when he asked if he had a permit.

Since, everyone (even visitors) in Clark County who has a handgun in their possession needs to register it with LVMPD.

Just for the record, Tom S didn't replace Caan in roles.. Caan's job is now held by Dauhmel(Sp)..Tom S is the new Owner.. different roles in the show...

Regardless, it is an upgrade...although they still need Nikki Cox in the show.. the new girl for her isn't nearly as hot.
