Dies for loading 30-30 on Dillon 550B

You can use the dies you already have or do what I do, and get a set of lee dies with the factory crimp dies. That way you can save your other dies for working up loads and then set the dillon up for that load once you're done. I have had great luck with lee dies, and I have a set of just about every brand sitting on my bench. Your 550 will handle 30-30 just fine. I load 338 ultra mag on mine.

You don't need the new dies, as rborensr mentioned, unless you have a set of old Lee dies. Those tend to be too short in the body for Dillon presses, I had to make modifications to my 1050s to use Lee Factory Crimp dies. A couple of years ago, Lee increased the die body length, so that is no longer an issue.

I'm using a 550B mow myself and I'll be purchasing a set of RCBS die's for it. My only reason for the RCBS die's is I like their rifle die's better. But, in truth you've recieved excellent information already from the prior posts.

I've got the dillon 550B and I love it. Most Lee dies work find. I like dillon dies better because they have a little curve in the case mouth and it makes the case go into the die better.(smoover)
The only die they make that I don't like it the 7.62X25. this one doesn't work. I had to got RCBS or redding to get a die that reloads 7.62X25.
I load 30-06, .308, 8mm mauser, 8x56R, 7.62X54R, 6.5x55, 7.5x55, 7.62x39, .223 plus most of the pistol cal. I also reload berdan brass,but can't use the dillon for decaping the berdan brass. And I use a Lee autoloader for berdan primers.

Any die set and definitely a Lee Factory Crimp Die. And of course RN Bullets. Hey which reminds me. Is there a source for those new leverevolution bullets? I'd like to locate some of them to load up.

I have a friend who gave me a bunch. He had no use for it.

I don't know how much I have....may 3 or 400. just a guess. I hardly shoot the ole winchester much. I have to take it out once a year to the range to make sure its still on target. Then I usually take it hunting one time during deer season.

Huh yea... its just an endless cycle is it not. But then what would we do otherwise.
