I'm a Mossberg guy, but if the Rem 870 "Fits" you better, that is the way to go. Got a distant relative that like the Win 1300 best....go with what fits.

I'm suspecting that maybe your 3rd or 4th generation of grandkids MIGHT be able to wear out that shotgun, but you probably can't.

Now, buy ammo by the trailer-truck-load, and see if you can disprove the theory of low long a modern pumpgun lasts......

And may you have more babies of the same, congrats on your young one. Fine choice.

Great choice IMO the better of the two the 870 will outlast the Mossberg.:D

You may later want to add a Speed Feed stock it beats loose rounds hanging and slipping on the butt stock.;)

Way to go, Nix! I have shot the 870, and I liked it. I am a Mossberg guy, but no sour feelings towards Remington. I see you have a stock shell holder-that's a good way to protect it from nicks and scratches.

I keep wanting to buy another shotgun, but my 870 just does everything I want it to do, and it does it time after time. I really feel like I lucked out because mine fit's me to a T, and it feels like a part of my body when I shoot it.

I have tried other shotguns, and I thought they were OK, but I am an 870 man through and through.

One thing I would recommend is that you change out the front grip for an LE style if you plan to use it for HD. From the looks of the mag tube, that's probably what you bought it for.
