My neighbor has a goat he wants me to help butcher. She's a Boer goat thats a few years old, has a mean temperament, and has been working clearing brush its whole life. Is this worth eating? Is it gonna be disgusting? I've never had goat.

:p

Oh yes it is good, the younger the better though.Soak in water for a few days, good amount of salt.Cook it over hot coals,delicious....

The boys I grew up hunting with all killed deer one year except for one guy who always got something-but not that year. He was so tore up about everyone knowing he didn't get a deer that he killed a goat, skinned it and hung it up on the pole, and told everyone it was a doe. You couldn't tell the difference. I was the only one he told. Anyway, we ate that goat, and it was very good.

Get a Mexican to show you how to make birrea.Requires Maquay leaves and a big steamer pot and the trick chile sauce, but hotdamn tastes like beef but better.OS; I raise goats.

Kid goat is just like lamb, only leaner, and you can cook it the same way. An older goat is going to be a bit tougher than a kid though, and more strongly flavoured - like mutton. It'd make an excellent curry.

We have a goar roast every year. If it is an older goat we boil the heck out of it for theee hours in a large pot, marinate it in Catalina Salad dressing with garlic and hot peppers over night, and grill it up the next day. Our guests rave, but they are drinking a lot of beer!

lol buckwacker.....beer seems to make everything taste better. I've been known to eat possum, coon, and bear after a few beers.

i feed the old goats and sheep to my dog. she loves them, but tends to smell like them for a few days afterward. i save the better meats like buffalo and venison for myself.:D

Wow... I ate it. It was awesome! So good! Totally worth while. Thanks Guys!
