Cproducts suck. I had about 15 go bad out of 100. Another buy resulted in the same 10-20% failure rate, out of 75 bought. People who have bought onsey twosies, see them crap out locally too, at about 10-20% failure rate. The follower ends up getting hung up in the middle of the body. I'm not impressed. A couple Pmags cracked last week. Not sure exactly what happened, but I'll find out tomorrow. Some of them went through classes last winter here, so I'm not sure why these failed. I think they are overpriced, but I want them to end up being reliable.

D&H, Labelle, Okay's all hold up well. HK's are way too much money.
D&H had a bad run of mags a couple years ago. CProducts has had problems also. It happens. The ones I have work.

I haven't tried HK or Pmag. Most of my mags are D&H and seem to work well enough. I have a couple NHMTG ? mags that work well also. D&H mags I have the seams and such are uneven and look sloppier than other mags. They have worked though.

Probably because alot of people are like me and they didn't read past the first page.

That video impressed me, so I imagine that alot of other guys were also impressed.

Jeeze, soooorry.

They most certainly do, they push the rounds down to take the pressure off the feed lips.

Soybomb is right. I tried it and if you have more than 20 rounds in the PMag, you can see the dust cover displace the rounds down about 1/8 inch. I stand corrected. BTW, not all my PMags do this, but most do. Hmmmm.

The Brownells USGI type mags are awesome.
If you find a good deal on older mags buy them. Brownells sells rebuild kits with new springs and green follower.
Or just get new springs and Magpul anti tilts.
MagPuls are very nice mags. I am very interested to see what long term effects of drastic temp changes have on the plastic. We go from 100+ to below zero so will see what happens after leaving a full mag in the trunk for a year or so. Plus using them on days like today. 20* outside, rapid fire, but no problems.
HKs are nice, but IMO heavy and over priced, but people still buy a lot of them.

The PMags sounds great, except for the part about having to keep the dust cover locked on to leave one loaded.

Heck, I have GI mags from the Vietnam era that have been loaded since 1970, and the feed lips haven't spread open yet!

I have a couple of PMags that have been loaded for about 6 months - full 30 rounds. I don't put the dust cover on them. They haven't been around long enough for lengthly storage tests. I don't think the lips are going to wear out from storage.

Guntech,

The P-mags do not fit the FS2000 and I imagine some other Bullpup designed guns that take the standard 5.56 mag.

To all of those that think the HK are 3 times as much, if you shop at the right places they can be had for under $30. You can do what I do and just own a bunch of HK mags, a bunch of standard mags like C products, and a bunch of P mags.

i am not sure that they must be in place. I am leaving them off my storage test mags. But I am not sure I will be able to replicate your 35yr test :D

Are you talking about 20rds or 30rds? I love the orginal 20rd mag with the metal follower. I still have a couple of those that I use for competition, very reliable.

FWIW every mag I have tried works well when new, but the real test is going to be after prolonged, extreme use.
I know some people that look at the magazine as an expendable item that you replace every couple months/years as the case may be.
I have some Issue mags that were new in the wrapper in 1984/85 when I got them and they still work great after many thousands of rounds of use. Every now and then I will stretch the spring a little when cleaning them. Some I have replaced the followers on. But they are still working.

I expect a real challenge for any polymer mag is going to be subzero temperatures. A lot of polymers get brittle in extreme cold.

We'll be having those below zero days in a month or so here. I'll have to see how the PMags hold up in -40.

Let us know how it goes.
